Currently setting up a new business in Puerto Rico as a resident in WA state, and let me just warn you callers from the US (and elsewhere) now. They will not answer you. Spanish or English, the phones do not actually go through. Lol We needed our merchant certificate to open a local bank account in San Juan, and we called several times, choosing English and Spanish, it bounces around, goes silent and then hangs up. Our banker in San Juan even tried calling and was hung up on. On the brighter side, our banker recommended that we drive to the office and speak in person. To our luck, the building exists! The people exist, and the customer service was great! We walked in on a Monday morning, 10 min wait, department "101" on the 1st floor, and the woman was bilingual (but I did bring a friend who's bilingual too just in case), and it was painless and smooth sailing from there. We were done, with a merchant certificate in hand on the way to the bank within 30 mins.
0 stars for Phone Service. 5 stars for In-Office customer service.
I know this doesn't help those who are attempting to achieve SURI setup remotely, but you do what you gotta do. Book a flight and go in...
Read moreThis workforce is a joke, and the phone customer service is the worst I have ever witnessed... and trust me, as a Veteran I have dealt with a lot of public service agencies around the world, and this is by far the worst. You can try calling them looking for a specific department, wait at least 30 minutes for someone to answer and then they will bounce you around like a ping pong ball into oblivion just so the phone call will get disconnected... then start all over again. As a Puerto Rican who joined the Military, served 20+ years, and came back home to enjoy the retiree life, it is embarrassing to know that this agency treats people (locals and visitors) with such a lack of work ethic, discipline and dedication for the people. We definitely need an agency like DOGE to come here and clean house because these folks ain't doing jack for the people... just clocking in & out to get paid. A 1-star review for this agency is too generous... End...
Read moreIf I could give this place one star I would. So I’ve been been here since Friday at 1pm EST 02 JULY 21. I got everything I needed for the VPC but the Hacienda stated they could t open any of the documents that the VPC provided to them (which honestly is a personal problem for them). So I went today (06 JULY 21) made it at 3:39pm. The security guard stop me and pretty told me to state my business… What else you think I’m here for dude. We really didn’t understand each other because he spoke little to no English and it was vice versa for me. Prior to me arriving there two hours before that I called twice and they hung up in my face twice after I asked for someone who spoke english. The PCS process for military service members and VPC/Hacienda is the most difficult for no dam reason and if you don’t speak Spanish you better learn or bring...
