I visited Healing Touch Iyashi for a one-hour deep tissue massage - Medium, but the experience was both disappointing and painful. Despite repeatedly telling the masseuse, Allen, that the pressure was too firm, my concerns were ignored and even met with a chuckle. The session lacked proper technique as the masseuse left me with a painful and tender knot on my hand (either muscle or nerve issue) —far beyond normal soreness. This occurred after doing the finger popping - which I will never allow again.
When I reached out to the business, the manager, Christine, asked questions and then her responses became dismissive, blaming external factors, telling me I should've mentioned it earlier (which I did) - as they cannot be liable to discomfort after you leave. I mentioned that nerve or muscle pain/damage doesn't present itself immediately after getting up from a massage table. The manager offered no resolution, except for 10% off the next service since I am a "loyal customer."
As someone experienced with massages, this is unacceptable. I can no longer recommend this place due to their disregard for client feedback, poor technique, and lack of accountability.
*Edit after business response: It appears that you are committed to misunderstanding me. I stated that I expressed the dissatisfaction with the masseuse during the service. Furthermore, I do not have wrist pain. I have a knot stemming from the muscle on my hand. A well-established massage business would know that a muscle knot or trigger point is typically not immediately visible or palpable right after a massage.
While some discomfort can be normal after a massage, persistent pain or an injury, especially stemming from a specific technique like finger popping, is not acceptable.
I would appreciate a call from the owner to further discuss this concern.
*Edit after 2nd business response: It is disappointing that you continue to avoid taking accountability for your employee’s use of excessive force during the massage, which directly caused the pain and injury to my hand. You are overlooking the core issue: the improper technique and disregard for client feedback during the session. This reflects poor issue resolution, inadequate customer service, and highlights the need for your employee to pursue additional training—not just to meet technical qualifications, but to develop a better understanding of appropriate pressure levels and client-centered care during deep...
Read moreAfter a stressful work week, I was hoping to relieve some of the tension with a one hour head massage. Reading the description of this service, it said that there’d be neck and shoulder relief as well, so I highly anticipated it. However I was extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with the service, as there were multiple attempts from me to ask the therapist to be accommodating (ex: apply more pressure, go slowly, etc.). Not only that but just 30 minutes before my appointment time, they called and told me I would have to come in at 7:10 not the original 6:45. I told her we were already on our way but she just said I can cancel if I want.
Anyways going in, I expected a head massage that would trigger my pressure points and loosen the tension but instead, she just scratched my scalp for an hour in different ways. I expected after the first 10 minutes, she would switch it up and do some other form of massage therapy, but she asked me t o flip over and just did the same thing! She wasn’t even being careful with it, quite honestly just scratching my scalp in quick repeated motions with her nails. It was not enjoyable, relieving, or feel good at all and when I tried to say something she would not comply or listen. I have long hair and it was in a ponytail but she didn’t pull out the hair tie, and just kept pulling my hair in different directions while scratching. It got so tangled by the end of it all. I tried to tell her multiple times that I wanted her to move slower and apply more pressure, especially around the temples but she just kept telling me that I only ordered the 1 hour head massage as if I wasn’t allowed to request accommodations.
She never touched my neck and just barely grazed over my shoulders a few times with no pressure at all. I just felt like she was touching me. When she moved to my face, she put a cloth sheet as a barrier and started rubbing my temples and cheeks so hard it felt like she was giving me a carpet burn on my face. By this point I’d felt I had already told her 4-5 times what I wanted/didn’t want but she didn’t comply so I just sat there. Looking back I should have just got up and left but I wanted to see if it would get better and it never did. Extremely dissatisfied, not relieved at all, upset at the service and response when asking for what I wanted. I’m not coming back nor will I ever suggest this place to...
Read moreCAREFUL!! CHANGE OF THE MANAGEMENT AND OWNERSHIP TEAM!! I WAS A LOYAL GUEST AND I AM NOW VERY VERY DISAPOINTED!!! On the 31st I went with my husband to Healing Touch to get a couples massage. I had my loyalty card with 6 massages I have already paid and an expiration date of 4/20/23. I still had one massage left in my card and when I gave it to the girl at the front desk, she did not want to accepted. She mentioned they changed the owner and they do not accept this cards anymore, that I had to pay and the previous owner will call me and reimburse me. What kind of business is this? Why I can not use the massage I have already paid and the old owner refunds the current owner instead of the costumer? It makes absolute no sense. I have not made a deal with the previous owner, the current owner has, so why I have to be in the middle. Moreover, I am still waiting for any owner to call me. I am a very regular client to Healing Touch and I was very very disappointed with the way I was treated by new management. I have paid for 6 massages and I got 5! As a costumer and me working in the service industry I feel everything I have been told on that day are excuses. I do not explain my costumers internal situations, I make sure they are happy. New management explained me all this internal situations I do not care or can do nothing about it. Moreover, if my loyalty card was going to expire before the actual date for what ever reason, why new management did not send me an email or gave me a call advising? They have all my contact details.
Another thing I want to point out, I been many times to Healing Touch and it has always been to relax and have a quite time, every time I have entered to the place it was quite and very relaxing. This time, the new girls at the front desk were screaming, talking on the phone with the speaker and not respecting the atmosphere at all. Regarding all my statements this is the main reason I will not come back! I can not relax on a place like this! And what management does not understand is that a there are many many more massage places I could go but I was loyal to this one and they decided to disrespect me. I do not recommend going to this...
