The Ship & Anchor Pub — Restaurant in Sandy Springs

Went on a Sunday evening and first sat at a pub table. My friend went and got us beers. We then decided to move to the bar with our already beers. We sat down at the bar with near empty beers. The two bartenders just kept walking past us not even making eye contact. Keep in mind too that they never even greeted us when we sat down. There were about 6 people at the bar - and the place wasn’t busy so that was not the issue. We continued to sit there for another 10 minutes until I flagged one down ( couldn’t even get them to make eye contact ). Just overall not a place I would go back to. They seem to really like their regulars and don’t spend too much time giving service to those they don’t know. I worked as a bartender for very busy places for many years and you give service to every patron and at minimum say hello. This place has some decent food but is lacking in the service department. We went there and sat at a table top in the center of the restaurant. Someone dropped off menus but never came back. We moved to the bar thinking that we cannot be ignored there. Wrong!! Two bartenders that were no more than 10 feet away ignored us for 15 solid minutes. Not even eye contact. We finally had to speak up to get someone to pay attention. The food was pretty good though. The beer selection is fair at best but there are some drinkable offerings. Atmosphere is good. There is a pool table and juke box if you want to hang out longer. If the service can just improve the place would be...

I stopped in for my Fish on Friday.(5:30pm) There is only one piece of fish, but it is a healthy, thick piece. Not much flavor in the fish, but the breading was good and seasoned with pepper. I ordered shrimp as an extra and was very surprised as to how crispy crunchy they were without being dried out. I eat with texture in mind and these were amazing. They had a nice amount of seasoning. The steak fries were typical steak fries but with pieces of salt on them. Very good. The JD& Coke was a perfect mix. Not too strong but you knew it wasn't just coke. Be careful.
