Pisco’s customer service was absolutely terrible. My partner and I went in for dinner but were not greeted at all. We were told to choose whichever table was available, we sat down, and waited for about ten minutes before we received any sort of greeting. The restaurant was empty, besides the two other young men that our server spent the majority of her time chatting with. Once the server, Andrea, did approach us, she asked us what we wanted to order, but of course we could not because we did not have a menu.

After we received the menus, we finally ordered two Lomo Saltados and yuca for the appetizer. The server left and went straight back to the two men that she was having a great time chatting with. A woman from the kitchen brought back one lomo saltado for my partner and the order of yuca, but not my lomo saltado. I waited for another ten minutes, until the woman from the kitchen came back out and I asked for an update on my lomo. She mentioned that the order was not placed and that the server was very distracted chatting with the other male customers. Andrea came back and said that I never ordered anything, which was an absolute lie.

She then went back, placed the order, and I waited for another 15 minutes. At this point I could not eat with my partner and his food was cold. The woman from the kitchen came back out with chicken saltado, not steak.

At this point, I no longer wanted to eat there and was irritated. I went to the owner and he took ZERO accountability for my experience and said that there was an “outage” in the kitchen. The issue wasn’t an “outage”, it was a distracted server that was not doing her job. Andrea came back and said that she would heat up my partner’s food, but did not apologize about anything, neither did the owner.

At that point, I asked for the check to leave. Then the lomo saltado finally came out 45 minutes after my partner’s, which I did not want anymore. The server comes back and charges me for everything. My intention isn’t to get free food, but if you have any common sense, you would at least discount the check for the horrible customer service and for the food that I never ate.

It wasn’t until the only excellent employee/server at Pisco came back and noticed that I was irritated. Her name is Sofi; she was so sweet and agreed that I had received poor customer service. Granted she wasn't involved in anything, but she asked me to please excuse the service that I received. She then said that it wasn’t fair that I had to pay full price and asked the owner to discount the check. The owner didn’t even have the decency to approach me to apologize for my experience. Andrea didn’t even bother returning to the table, which I was not surprised about. Sofi handled the situation perfectly.

HUGE congrats to Sofi for being so kind and being great at her job. All I needed was a genuine apology for the service and she did that. I hope that she can take over this restaurant because the current owner clearly does not project any sense of leadership or example to her team and customers.

It’s more than obvious that we will not...

NO STARS for food because we never received our order.

I have absolutely loved coming to this restaurant since moving to the area—I’ve been there a handful of times. Food has always been excellent (the lomo and pollo saltado are as authentic as I’ve ever had, and I lived several years in South Florida with some very good Peruvian restaurants). But … I will NEVER return after tonight. The waitress was rude from the moment we sat down (we’ve always had the same waiter in the past). We needed some extra time to order, so I ordered an Old Fashioned in the meantime. It was not very good (undrinkable)—bitter, not sweet enough, etc. I’ve had a lot of Old Fashioneds over the years and they can be tricky to get right. I never (ever) return drinks but this was bad. A waiter came by (who usually serves us) and asked how things were. We mentioned the drink casually. He said he’d fix it. Great, right?

Instead, our waitress got wind of it, came back and asked about it, insisted that SHE would make it, and brought me another one.

Regardless of how it tasted I was going to say “fine.” But for some reason it had bubbles in it (it’s not supposed to!) and when I sipped it—she insisted that I do in front of her—it was again awful tasting.

At that point we just wanted to eat—it had been 20 minutes now—but I also started feeling strange. More on that later.

Meanwhile, the couple next to us had sat down at about the same time we did, received their food, and finished—and we had yet to receive any of our food.

We waited another 30-40 minutes and the place was emptying out. We were growing frustrated. Finally I went to the bar and paid for the drink (against my date’s wishes) because I just wanted to leave with a clear conscience.

Most places would not have even charged a thing and apologized. I paid and got out of there. The hostess did apologize profusely on the way out the door.

I don't know what was in that drink, but by the time I got home though my stomach was rumbling. I felt sick—and got sick. Related or not, I will never go back there. It kind of sucks because the food was always good. That experience and the terrible service will keep me from spending my money...

A time was had on Friday during our foodie time at @piscolk !! Man this little hidden gem was absolutely amazing. Great customer service, beautiful decor on the inside, and what you want to hear most.... AMAZING Peruvian EATS MENU.

Here is what we had:

Conchitas a la Parmesana ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Small sweet Scallops covered in a simple breaded parmesan with light seasoning and a butter cheese reduction. The scallops were cooked perfectly which is a master move!!

Tostones ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ We added these. You can never go wrong with a well cooked tostone. They had a citrus and herb sauce on the side that had some tang. Very good.

Saltados ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ This is the national dish of Peru and it is banging. Meat, with French fries, onions, and yellow rice served with a tangy gravy under it all. It sounds crazy but it is not only delicious, but the portion size was outrageous! We had steak and chicken and both were cooked to perfection!

Raspberry Lemon Drop ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ These folks know how to make a lemon drop. That thang was hitting!!

The Hemingway ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Rum, cherry liqueur, grapefruit juice, lime, cherry garnish. Had me doing go rock-away. Lol

Coco Loco ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Rum, mango rum, pineapple juice, Pina colada mix. Think of a more boozy and tastier Pina colada.

Mango & passion fruit Cheese Cake ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Lord this was good.

Guava Cheese Cake ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ This right here was magical. When I tell you this was the most unique Cheese Cake we have had, I meant it!!

Run, don't walk to this hidden gem Peruvian spot so you can beat the crowds... because they deserve the customers. Amazing!!

The music is fantastic, the space is bright, and I can see this being a great success. Thankful for also having real cloth napkins and not cheaping out with paper! We started with patatas bravas... beautiful plating, though it was also a little clumsy to serve from. Potatoes were fried well and evenly, the green onion and the sauce on top contributed to a pleasing look and we were looking forward to it. For us, however, is was lacking spice and thought the sauce could stand to have a level of rocoto added to it as well as a little salt. The Lomo Saltado was again a nice plate to look at and set up well. Rice was a good flavor, the beef cooked correctly, and veg sauté was nice... but again the plate lacked salt or soy sauce to elevate it. Lo Mein Chicken was okay... noodles and veg were very nice, but the chicken had been inconsistently cooke, being over done on one side from the other resulting in some pieces being dry and tough. This plate also lacked a bit of salt or soy sauce to bring it up. Of course, various Peruvian dishes are subject to the region you are used to eating them and other than the chicken, all was executed nicely... next time I will test and see if Chef will agree to adjust things more to taste such as the spice level. During our visit it was refreshing to see that so many families were coming, even with smaller children, and that it wasn't focused on the bar area. Oh! The bar! Selection of alcohol is fantastic and we will certainly put them to the test to make Pisco Sour in the future!

I recently had the pleasure of trying both lomo saltado and ceviche at Pisco Latin Kitchen and I was blown away by the flavors and ingredients used in both dishes. Starting with the lomo saltado, the marinated strips of beef were cooked to perfection and the combination of the onions, tomatoes, and spices created a delicious stir-fry. The dish was served with both rice, fries, and plantains as part of their Cuban fusion which made for a well-rounded and satisfying meal. The ceviche was equally impressive. The raw seafood was perfectly "cooked" in the lime juice, giving it a tender and flavorful texture. The chili peppers "Rocotto" added a nice kick of heat and the cancha, cilantro, and sweet potato made for refreshing garnishes. I especially appreciated the fact that the ceviche was served chilled, I felt the portion was a bit to rationed but I guess they have their margins too. Overall, I was extremely impressed with both the lomo saltado, Calamari, Tostones and ceviche and would highly recommend giving them a try if you're a fan of Peruvian cuisine.
