Oceanhills is a fantastic church in Santa Barbara, our family has attended for around 6 years. The worship music is amazing with a team full of incredibly talented musicians. The teaching is dynamic and often has ways for us to respond whether in the service or throughout the week. One of our favorite parts of being involved in this church has been the life groups. There are tons of options of life groups to join for whatever you may be looking for— both in terms of types of people in the group, content, day/time etc. The children’s ministry program is incredible and is a place kids are excited to come to each week. The Pastors and Leadership team (elders) took a vote before I started serving - if, as a transgender woman, I could help. They decided that I could and I had a blessed and wonderful time!

Until suddenly and without warning, I was told that they changed their minds and decided that I am not welcome. It's one thing to be excluded completely, it's even worse that I was welcomed, made community and friends, and then was kicked out
