Being younger, tattooed, pierced, mother of a two year old, and married to my wife, DeVargas was one of the most judgmental places in Santa Fe I've been to. Our daughter is Autistic and sometimes going into certain stores stresses her out, but we work with it. Every single store we went to in there, someone made a comment about how we were not in control of our child, that it was sad we threw our lives away, 'young mothers', ect. Mind you, our daughter is remarkably well behaved, we either hold her, or she holds our hands. She cried once because a cashier was being very rude to us. But, the lowest point of this trip, me and my wife are prolific readers, so when we found the book store, we were overjoyed. We went in excited and ready to buy at least three books each, but the older man behind the counter didn't greet us at all, when we said hello, he scoffed at us, and went on to talk, very loudly about us to the customer he was ringing up. Read moreI actually only went to Pizza Etc in the DeVargas Center. This pizza was outstanding! I ordered for 20 people and my family all commented on how good it was. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The crust and toppings were top quality and great tasting. I LOVED the gluten free crust! Typically GF tasted like cardboard but these folks make their own GF crust in any size you want. It was delicious. The Greek salad was so good! The salad had sundried tomatoes, fresh grape tomatoes, roasted garlic, feta, spicy black olives, cucumber, and an Italian type of dressing. This tiny place was full of big, wonderful surprises! Highly recommend this...

With the demise of that company, Albertson supermarkets, (now renamed Market Place), rented the huge space, chopped it off from the interior mall proper, did total renovation. Now the mall contains local shops under one roof. Used to have a Regal cineplex, unfortunately, recently, closed. However, it may be being revamped and reopening (as a reliable whisper has it). I have, as of this update, witnessed the old seating being torn out and piled in the parkinglot...
