I don’t write many reviews, But today was in fact, a customer service exchange That absolutely compelled me to write one. I don’t know about most of you, but I have pretty much lost my faith in any Sort of customer service interaction. Lately it just feels like everyone hates their job and nobody wants to put it any kind of effort. This I feel, is the most valid reason for why most people have transitioned to online shopping (well that and laziness, but that’s a different review) I headed to Dick’s today with the hopes of buying my nephew, his first big bike. We had questions, We had concerns, Things that only someone who knows about bikes could answer. We got there and started tinkering around, grabbing bikes that looked cool, When minutes later, the “Bike guy” Arrived. Immediately, And without Any provocation, This gentleman pointed my nephew in the right direction. He was patient, He was kind, He was courteous, And most importantly, He was knowledgeable. He took the time To help my nephew pick out the bike that was adequate for size, and Taught a quick lesson And how to switch gears, And when and why, And the correct way to brake. He filled up the tires, Ran some last minute tests and tweaked everything to make sure it was in working order. He was precisely what we needed, And much much more than we expected. When I went to the checkout aisle to pay, I was then greeted with even more customer service overachievers. We were warmly greeted, With genuine smiles. We were instructed how to ensure we received the additional discount on the app. Just what every customer service interaction should be , in a perfect world. I think it’s really sad that we can’t expect this anymore. It left me hopeful these kind of employees still exist. Thank you, Dick’s. And may you be the change that we need to see...
   Read moreThe experience at Dick's sporting goods store was one of the worst purchasing ordeals in my entire life. The situation was that I purchased a kayak on line with my debit card. The kayak was at the "Saugus" store and available for pickup.So I went down on Tuesday after their Monday issue with an idiot teenager breaking in and causing a brief disturbance, of which had nothing to do with Dick's office employees to completely CANCEL my order and not selling the kayak to me.At which time while in the store the floor employee told me to wait for two hours while the office people get the paper work in order. So I left the store and waited for hours, until 4:00 I called customer service and they told me in brief that "it's to bad" and your money will be returned in 3 to 4 working days.Now I have no money , no kayak and a trip (in a wheelchair as a disabled Veteran) of which is difficult on a good day , all because Saugus employees were to lazy to process the information from the extra day they had off while the store was closed.This is nothing more than sub-standard business practice and I will never shop at Dick's Sporting Goods Store again...further more, I will relay this nonsense to all my friends relatives and...
   Read moreOk so I bought my 10 yr old.daughter a bike.online for her bday the third bike ive bought from Dicks. After 12 days i didnt recieve the bike via shipping I called customer service and they explained the bike wasnt shipped because it wasnt in stock so they refunded my $$$ so i went to another location to buy a new bike . Theh gave me a 25% off promo code for their error. The next day the previous bike showed up via shipping after it was voided. I called customer service to explain what happen they said it was out of their hands because the refund was already made. The next day we recieve a call from a bully from the Saugus Ma store accusing of us of stealing the bike called my wife twice lying saying he had false paperwork for her to pick up luring her to the store so he can interrogate her and be very aggressive. Tomorrow i will be at that store to talk to management.. so inappropriate get a life thief.. next time call me not my wife...
