Not a bad place for physical media enthusiasts, rare collections, obscure things.
Employees are all over the place for attitude everytime, some are nice, some are very terse.
Worst thing by far is the trade in values. I'm not exaggerating when I say you could trade in a collection of items that total thousands of dollars in terms of value and they'll give you maybe 40 dollars in store credit. I understand they need to make a profit, but if I'm selling a 4K blu-ray to them, it shouldn't be like 3 dollars at most given to me and then I see it the next time I'm in the store "Pre-Owned: 28 dollars". They really need to start doing better with prices. Some things they want 200 dollars for, I can buy on amazon for 80.
Update: I'm done with the store, I'm sick of dealing with rude employees that constantly mess up orders. I pre-ordered The Abyss in 4K like a week or two before it came out, last week I called because I still hadn't received it, and they told me no one ever put the order in, but they would fix it. I just called today because I was able to get it from walking into Walmart for LESS MONEY, so I called them to cancel the order for it, only for them told tell me that they yet AGAIN FAILED TO ORDER IT.
Why do I need to call OVER and OVER to order one film and it still can't be done? These people are now one of the only physical media stores left, and they know it, so they just don't care anymore. No care, no effort, nothing. How hard is it to order a film?    Read moreThis is the bottom of the line of video game stores. It's a shame that this is the only other major video game carrier in the state of Maine. I have gotten near-scammed many times buying video gaming consoles and games as well as books and other items. They "refurbish" every item. They apparently don't understand what refurbish means. I bough a Xbox One S here and the outside was yellow and there were markers stains all over. (Keep in mind that it was 210 dollars.) The controller that came with it was dirty with Cheeto dust and dirt in the crevices of the buttons. The console's inside was dusty, dirty and crusty. It was awful. Returned it a bought a 260 dollar (40 dollars below brand new price) Xbox Series S. The console DIDN'T EVEN WORK. The Bluetooth wasn't functioning properly, meaning that I couldn't use my controller. The outside was even worse than the One S and when I took a can of air spray to the fans, I whole barrage of dust came flying out. The controller had the thumb sticks worn off and the outside was stained yellow. It had controller stick drift and the A button didn't work. I have also bought video games here that were priced as "brand new." Specifically F1 2023. This game was in fact not brand new and had dust and some kind of residue on the outside and scratches on the disk. I had also bought some items online and purchased them with my credits on the store. They charged my debit card without my consent. Please, for your own wellbeing go to GameStop right across the street or Game box in Topsham.    Read moreI normally love this location and go 1 time a year 2 it as its not my local store 2 turn in my sons and my old books as our store doesn't offer it however I had the worst customer service ex ever 2day march 9th I brought my sons books in and said lots are prolly 2 damaged. But that's ok the guy said he smelt something bad and was rude from the moment he started assisting me n started loudly complaining about it then started smelling ever1 of my books their was a man behind me thus was the smell and was clear he knew and was very embarked I tried 2 gracfuly help this employee.
