Lamey-Wellehan was able to fit me in a wider, longer shoe that would fit over my new left ankle orthotic (see photo), and yet not be too long or wide for the unaffected right foot. AND it was my favorite Keen Targhee II shoe! Brady, my excellent sales person, worked with me to get just the right size, and fill the extra space in the right shoe with filler inserts. It took some time, but Brady was not going to rush the process. 5 stars for Lamey-Wellehan, but 6 stars for Brady! PS: I learned that if you need different sizes for each foot due to medical issues (like a required orthotic), Lamey-Wellehan has a discount program for that second size. Fortunately the same size worked for both my feet with a little adjustment by Brady.
Update: returned several weeks later to buy a pair of indoor shoes for my ankle and orthotic. This time, Jake gave me the same excellent service Brady had earlier. Same 5 stars for Lamey-Wellehan, and same 6 stars for Jake. I remain a loyal customer!
Update 2: today needed a higher, warmer, waterproof shoe or boot to walk our snow-loving Labrador, while still fitting over the orthotic. Stephanie found the perfect solution that I hadn’t thought of: a Bogs mid-high boot! Now 2 years with Lamey-Wellehan, still LOVE having a REAL shoe store, with REAL shoe experts, STILL 5-stars for Lamey-Wellehan & now 6 stars...
Read moreJust wanted to share my past experience at the scarbrough Me lamey wellehan location, I purchased a new pair of wolverine work shoes, although I did try them on and it appeared that they fit well, after wearing them just one day my left shoe seemed quite sloppy inside boot, seemed like a defect to me , went back to the scarbrough location and was told because the shoes were warn they would not return them for a different size or different choice of shoe, (was told that I was told and they tell all customers) to wear their shoes around inside the house to make sure they fit correctly which I was never told , I was shown the return policy which was a very small read and partially covered. Was told by store manager that they can't cant continue to take shoes back and that even even LL Bean doesn't take shoe returns back, which just is not true they still offer a 100% guarantee with copy of receipt, I even sent a email to the higher up and he offered me a thicker insole instead of exchanging , so to say this experience was a huge disappointment is a Understatement, I always try to saport our local companies and their employees but this make that very difficult to do hopefully this helps with your choice of shoe...
Read moreI bought a pair of $150 Brooks Dyads two and a half months ago. I always wear a size 12 but they recommend a 12.5. They also said I have flat feet which I’ve never been told before. My heal rubbed the back of the shoe down to the plastic. I called to see if there was a warranty on them. I was told to bring them in for a manager to look at. When I went in, two managers came up to me. The first gentleman started talking to me about my shoes, but was rudely interrupted by a female manager (who was on the phone talking to someone) and proceeded to tell me that the rubbing was a problem with my feet even though it’s never happened before and they recommended the size 12.5). Needless to say I will never buy a shoe from them Again. I Just left Fleet Feet in Portland. They are amazing. They digitally measure your feet, watch you walk to look at your gait and your heal arch (turns out my feet aren’t flat) and then they give multiple recommendations for sneakers. Plus they have a 60 day return policy NO matter what happens to the sneaker. Before thinking of going to Lamey for sneakers please try Fleet Feet. They are much nicer and more...
