This company has absolutely backward business policies. They made a mistake on an order and charged me for delivery, which was supposed to be free - see photo. You have to sign the invoice in-store on a blank screen, so you don't see the total you're signing for - backward business policy. When I received the invoice by email, I saw they charged me $119 for delivery. You cannot call the store, there is no published phone number - another backward business policy - you have to call an 877 phone number. After explaining the mistake they made, I was informed that giving me a refund for the erroneous delivery fee, changes my delivery date. I asked to speak with a manager and got a supervisor, who could not explain to me how giving me a refund had any affect at all on my delivery date - another backward business policy that no one could explain. Because Living Spaces made a mistake and charged me for something they advertised to be free, which I confirmed with Jeremy, the salesperson who charged me a delivery fee, I had to wait an additional five days for delivery, yet the advertisement says free delivery as soon as in two days. I just cancelled the order. Is it a scam to have customers sign a blank page so Living Spaces can charge for a service that is supposed to be free, only to have customers have to clean up the mess of backward business practices?
One of the employees in the store, Travis, is so arrogant, demeaning, and rude. From his body language to the tone in which he speaks to customers, he just exudes arrogance. Based on the backward business processes, I shouldn't be surprised that Living Spaces employs someone like Travis.
Finally, Living Spaces, if you're sincere about wanting to right your wrongs posted on Google, why do you expect customers to call you? Why don't you reach out to customers? You have the info you need in some cases. Just another backward business policy - and rude, like Travis. Customers who already have a problem and you make us chase you down. You are in need of remedial customer service training.
UPDATE: Manager, Jocelyn, contacted me in an effort to make things right. She offered a discount, acknowledged some failures, and made an excuse for the employee who charged me the erroneous delivery fee. Upon delivery, I was again asked to sign a blank screen. I asked to see what I was signing for and the delivery person was not happy. The delivery driver clicked the 'I agree' button and then wanted me to sign. I said if you agree, then you sign, otherwise, let me read what I'm agreeing to. Next day, I get a call from the delivery supervisor due to my honest rating of the delivery - poor, and she didn't even know the system allowed me to view what I was signing. Apparently, it's status quo at Living Spaces to have customers sign blank forms. Well, not me. I have too much common sense to sign my name to anything before reading it.
UPDATE: See the photo of the sofa on this purchase. It cost $895.00. Since delivery, it’s been sat on for 3-4 hours a day for 71 days and there are no pets or children in the household. I asked for a refund and Jocelyn told me this condition is within their guidelines (shocking!), and furthermore, the condition doesn’t even qualify for a warranty claim. Jocelyn further insulted me by telling me I have buyer’s remorse – and she was feeble-minded enough to put this disrespect in an email, which I plan to send to the corporate office in La Mirada, CA. It seems Jocelyn, whose been identified to me as the refund and warranty supervisor, is proud of the quality of this sofa. Me, had I known it would look like this in less than 3 months, I wouldn’t have purchased it, so I guess I do have buyer’s remorse, but not for my purchase, I needed a sofa, but for the poor quality that Living Spaces seems proud of.
REPLY TO OWNER: I have emailed you, giving you one week from 21 Dec 2024 to determine whether you will honor my request for a refund for the poor quality sofa you sold me for $895. Your decision will be...
Read morePlease run from living spaces this place is a total scam. To there employees and managers no one seems care or help us get returns and actually taking accountability for wrong orders and damage to the property. Me and my husband and our little toddler went to Living spaces Aug 11th and also did an online order as well. We looked and wanted a nice mattress. The lady was nice who helped us but was rushing our order so we could get same day delivery which I thought would be great. The lady took me upfront and made me sign in signature pad which was blank had no idea what was signing or if order of what she was putting into my home was even correct. I was chasing our toddler in store while we were placing the order. My husband stayed at the house we order the furniture for and we got a late night delivery. They say it's white glove but far from it they hired people that were touching the walls with greasy hands and when they went up our custom stair case they dropped the metal foot on dresser and cracked the wood open on my stair case. The sales lady gave me wrong matterss and box springs. I went there the next morning and told my husband this wrong mattress and this box springs are wrong. I called the store all I got was answering service WARNING there is no direct contact with store you have to wait for a call back. The answering service says you must keep the mattress for 30 days you signed a contract. I told them but they delivered the wrong one! They pushed me off and asked to talked to sales manager it took two days to get a call back for Michael Snear to tell me I'm stuck with the mattress and I signed a 30 day contract. I told him I understand but you did not deliver the correct one the sales lady order the wrong one. He talked to sales lady and blamed me saying it was my fault since I was distracted with my toddler but how would I know when they force you sign digital signature and it's just signature pad and you do not see what you are signing order number or part number or anything. He agreed to return the incorrect box springs and that was it. My husband called day later customer service and they said okay we will go ahead and return everything we had ordered but they only picked up the box springs and not the mattress or other items we have ordered. The repair manger delivery took almost 2 weeks to call me about the stairs and told me she will have the order picked up Aug 24th I waited all day all night no one came to pick my order the service manger was Amber Castillo now I am going to store and will demand again for 6th time a pick up. The manger John that was there on September 5th was no help he told me no returns or refunds and has to be within 7 days. I told him I have been calling from day one to get a refund and told him my items but with days for return call and them telling me no they made sure it was past 7 days since when they said they would pick up they only returned one item and no the rest of the items. I talked to corporate office again and call back from a manger they said it's my fault since it was not returned in 7 days and told them they never picked up the items. Again I asked for customer service to get a manger to call me back and they told me you need to wait 30 days for incorrect mattress and all other items can not be returned. How is it you must return items within a 7 day period and they won't pick them back and service tells me more than 10 times you must keep for 30 days even if...
Read moreUpdate again! It has broken again! Yay! Turns out the fix they sent out wasn’t a fix! They still used the wrong screws but now the entire right side of the bed is falling off.
UPDATE!!! The bed frame they put together was done wrong and so poorly that it is now falling apart. We’ve had this bed frame for less than 2 months and it’s falling apart. The entire right side is sagging and the screws are slipping through the wood. $500 down the drain. Thanks for that Living Spaces, major scam company at work.
Do yourself a favor and just go somewhere else. They will lie to you in the store to get you to buy stuff and then you can never contact the store directly about your issues. You will always get to a corporate line that never seems to know what’s going on.
We have had a slew of issues with living spaces. Some issues were “fixed”, others have not been and I don’t think will be.
To start, we ordered a bed frame, couch, oversized chair and ottoman from them. The customer service in store was fine in general, I think our salesperson was new but he was nice enough. Whoever his manger was, not sure his name, had quite an attitude. When we told him twice that we didn’t want the warranties, he lectured and talked down to us saying “well why not?” In an aggressive tone. Truthfully, we should have walked out at that point.
We finally move on from the warranty talks after having to tell 3 sales people that we weren’t interested (super annoying but whatever).
Delivery time comes and our bed frame is delivered to the wrong house and the delivery person fakes my husbands signature! Husband gets the notification it’s been delivered and has to drag it all to the house alone in Phoenix heat. About an hour later, after we’ve complained and gotten a refund on our delivery, the delivery guys shows up and asks to take a photo of the delivery to prove it got to the right owners. Again, fine but still frustrating.
We finally get to build our bed frame and we are missing several bolts. We call again to get our pieces and have to wait another several days for the pieces to come. So we got to sleep on the floor on our mattress even longer. They tried to make it better by giving us free assembly. Great but that’s now the second issues we’ve with more to come so still frustrating.
Fast forward to today. Our couch was guaranteed to us 3 days ago. We called again today and we’re told it’s still “in progress”. We already knew that based on the status online but we’re trying to understand when it would finally arrive and why we were told a certain date if that couldn’t be accomplished. Things run late, it happens, but they seriously told us that “custom orders takes 4-6 weeks”. And they have no real estimate for us now so who knows when we will have a couch. So basically this store lied to us to get us to buy the couch because we made it clear we needed it asap. We moved to this state with basically no furniture and were relying on a quick-ish delivery on the couch. It really sucks to be in a home with no nice place to sit because Living Spaces lies to make money off you. This also baffles me because their sales people supposedly don’t make commission, so what do they gain from scamming us?
We will never purchase from Living Spaces again and will be sure to tell everyone we know...
