Sunset Beach — Attraction in Seaside Heights

Beautiful beach. It's like being at the end of the world! I've heard it gets crowded sometimes and parking could be an issue, but there weren't many people there when we went. Great for pictures. The wreck of the S.S. Atlantis is always interesting to see. Lots of wild life around, but please don't bother it or let your children bother it. And don't leave trash behind!

It's a great and relaxing place to see.

BTW: we would describe the beach as "pebbly" so prepare...

I smelled like sulfer after being in the water a bit. Lifeguards said was from jellyfish or crabs ( so not!) Hancock Ave has bacteria a lot which is smack in the middle of Sunset Beach! A lot of jellyfish 🪼 which the lifeguard only tells you AFTER you ask of there is a jellyfish problem. A lot of seniors go there cause an easy walk to the water. Met some very nice people there but Lifeguards really need to get it...

I stopped by on a Saturday night, on my way home to Toms River, from Lavallette NJ. The night view now when it's off season and, when there's nobody there is so peaceful.

There's a special kind of beauty to lights on a large body of water like Barnegat Bay on a Winter's night. I sat there in my car with the engine turned off and all car lights off. I was there until the inside cabin of my car became very cold....
