Sunburst Motel — Hotel in Seaside Heights

Wouldn’t recommend this motel. At the height of Covid in 2021 we visited seaside heights and stayed in this motel about 4/5 times. We stayed just overnight each time. From a Saturday into Sunday. It was late may and June months. We wanted to just get away again this summer overnight. We decided to stay at this motel again (not because of the aesthetics of the hotel because trust me it is very outdated and beds are uncomfortable) we stayed there because it’s close to the beach. I called in May and asked if they had any rooms for the one night. They asked me when and I gave them the date of June 25/26 just overnight . They said it would be 199 plus tax for the night. I did not book it that day because I was still looking at other motels/hotels in the area. I then called the 2nd week in June to book the room and they told me we would have to stay 2 nights. What they advertise on their website is false. The website states 2022 season prices JULY/AUGUST minimum 2 night stay. We were only looking to stay Saturday and check out Sunday. June 25/26 2022. I explained to him that on the website it says JULY AND AUGUST 2 night minimum. Not June. His response was “ well it’s summer” and you need to book 2 nights. Last time I checked. JUNE/JULY/AUGUST were summer months but yet on their website it only says July and august. Maybe June should have been listed there then? He then told us we could try back the week of June 20th because if they had a cancellation they would sell us the room for just the night. We waited literally until June 24th. The day before we needed the room and we called. They stated they did have rooms available and still wouldnt rent us the room for 1 night. Very iggnorant people on the phone. If you are going to consider staying here just know apparently they can change the prices/terms any time they want. Our money was good enough at the height of Covid to rent just one night in the month of June but not in 2022 even though the 2 night minimum according to your site didn’t start until July ??? Well you lost a customer and anyone else I possibly would have referred there ! Just take your business to Hershey motel. ...

We stayed here for four nights, while visiting the area for our nephew's 50th birthday celebration (this location being only about 2 blocks from his home). |The facility has an old-school, well-maintained, local motel ambiance. |Our unit (#53, located in the section a short distance from the main complex); was clean, compact and comfortable. Its location also allowed for fairly easy loading/unloading of our luggage. |Note: if one has mobility issues, as we do; upper floor rooms require the climbing of stairs. |The father/son duo running the operation were friendly and accommodating. |Being ole fartz, we appreciate that effort is taken in directing the establishment to a more family oriented, less rowdy uber-partying clientele. |All and all; a solid option, if one is seeking clean and comfortable accommodations...
