Grumpys Tackle — Attraction in Seaside Park

I've been going to Grumpy's since I started surf fishing quite some time ago. Without a doubt, the best tackle shop in the area. The staff is extremely helpful, and there is never any kind of pressure to make a purchase. The shop is very well equipped for all your fishing needs. They also repair reels, and offer custom built surf rods. I've had a few custom rods built by Grumpy's tackle, and the quality is outstanding. A wide selection of 'off the rack' rods are also available for various types of fishing. I live in Pennsylvania, and have no issues driving down to Grumpy's if I'm in the need for surf fishing gear. I know I'm going to find what I'm looking for there, all the while supporting a privately owned business. I was hoping to buy one of those large fishing carts...but they only had one model that was PVC and not Aluminum. That's ok...the search continues.

The guys who come to this store really seem to know what they are talking about. This is NOT the fishing section of Walmart...AND THAT'S A GOOD THING!

Quality bait that you can sort through yourself is always available at grumpys. That doesn't mean that I'm giving them 5 stars for the TASTE of the bait. Truthfully...I wouldn't know about that. But the fish that I catch in central jersey seem to like it...and that's good...

Just love Grumpys. He's like family to me. You know the uncle that just won't go home and a real PITA. Thank god for Frankie Z. Now whenever you want something to catch fish, that's the place to go. Want your reel fixed properly at a great price, FRANKIE Z. Now Ray is also a great guy too. I've never had a problem with just getting what i needed. I personally witnessed the old white bearded guy had some young vacationers come in all excited to fish and crab. Grumpy aka PITA sold them just what they needed and nothing more.
