Sea Garden Motel — Hotel in Seaside Heights

My family and I spent 4 days there and we were having a good time then we would get yelled at like little kids. Our cable wasn't working and the old man came up to check as soon as he walked in, he looked at the air conditioner and shook his head. No one even touched the a.c. being that we had only be there like 15 min upon checking in. So many other people breaking rules yet the staff members were fixated on us.We used the grilled and the old man came and opened our grill, didn't explain why looking to complain. There was slight normal smoke coming from the grill since we only closed it 2min before the old man came with a face like if we were doing something wrong and thats that one of the staff members cleaned it for us. The next day a family next to us used the other grill and it was smoking for about 10 min yet no one noticed. I was actually the one to tell the family that their food was burning. Then the front desk guy came out running. The family didn't get yelled at or told rude comments. Maybe I should have let it burn to the ground but still I didnt. The guy at the front desk tried to justify saying he wasn't picking at my family and he was watching everyone...I seen people next to the pool drinking with glass bottles also had cups and drinks while in the pool even smoking ..yet we had 1 small glass bottle on the table and that was another complaint. We were called animals by the old grumpy man because we put music poolside and had everyone from the motel playing with the ball in the pool having a great time. We took a portion of the pool to play a game since no one was at the pool at that time. We were yelled at by the grumpy old man again not to play and that other people want to use the pool that it isnt our pool. Basically telling us to get out of the pool and no one filled the gap where we were in for like 45 min.It was just alot of naging, picking and rudeness all weekend.My family and I never destroyed anything. All things were left clean and neat. We never even stood up late or made any noise after hours.We were treated very poorly for no reason. They made up rules as they saw fit. I told him just like others are on vacation we were too. Oh and someone drank in the pool and let the stryofoam cup break in the pool and there were pieces all over the pool. Maybe if they weren't so caught up in my family maybe you could have actually paid attention to those that left your establishment a mess. Which we never did. If you want to have a vacation where if you sneeze your going to be called some type of name then stay... other than that I strongly do not recommend. VACATION is to have fun...I dont care if the place is decent its not worth all the comments and nagging..They definitely need to have a couple of lessons on great customer service skills. They have absolutely none at all. But Karma is real and what you give out you get back 10 fold...We will take our business elsewhere...

My family and I just stayed 2 nights here for the first time. We’ve stayed at many motels in Seaside over the years, some that were absolute dumps, but Sea Garden was right up there with the best of them. Eric at the front desk was welcoming, friendly, and helpful. If he wasn’t in the office, he was always reachable by phone and helped us with whatever we needed. Yes, there is very limited on site parking but the extra lot for the motel is literally a 15 second walk right across the street. We rented a 2 bedroom apartment and it was extremely clean and spacious. Things like outdated furniture don’t matter to us as long as the room itself is clean which it was. The fridge and freezer was a full size unit and in working order. There aren’t comforters on the beds but we always bring our own anyway because let’s face it, most motels don’t wash the comforters anyway. The sheets were clean, no stains or holes, and when we asked for an extra set for the futon we were given them. The a/c unit worked great and if you keep the bedroom doors open at night the rooms stay just as cold as the rest of the apartment. The pool was clean and not overcrowded. The ONLY issue we had was the family who let their kids run back and forth in front of our room until well after midnight and were out there being noisy and obnoxious and that’s not the motel’s fault, just people being ignorant of other guests. Oh and we never were able to get the Wi-Fi working but we survived 😁 We were given coupons for a free continental breakfast at a little place a block or so away which was great. The location of the motel is perfect, close enough to the beach and boardwalk but set a block back so you don’t have crowds of people wandering past. Reading a lot of the reviews complaining about things like no room service or outdated furniture, um have you ever been to a shore motel before? It’s not the Four Seasons and you’re not there for a luxury hotel experience. It’s the shore. Motels like these are part of the charm and as long as they’re clean, well kept, and friendly that’s all that really matters. I stayed at this motel last weekend and had a horrible experience. The hotel itself appears to be nice, with two bedroom apartments (that do not sleep 6), but it is actually contaminated with mold and dirt. Many of my friends are sick with mold poisoning. Additionally, the staff is incredibly rude to its paying customers. The cops had to be called because one of the workers tried to put their hands on my teenage friend and confiscate my other friend’s property. I understand that there are rules, but they should be enforced with dignity. When we were leaving the motel, we were forced to change the dirty sheets (they do not clean their sheets) and take all the garbage (even the public ones) down 2 flights of stairs to a dumpster before we could get our security deposit. The workers get paid to do this but they made their paying customers do their dirty work. Finally, they tried to keep our security deposits for any reason they could find. My friend was charged because her OWN towel was stained, to name an example. This is an honest review— none of my roommates or me got kicked out, and neither did the other 2 people who left a review. The responses by the owners reflect their lack of dignity and their attempt to try to scam more people into coming. If you have children, or you are a child yourself, just know they will treat you as subhuman. I encourage everyone to read ALL the reviews (many share the same sentiment) before deciding to stay here. There are plenty of motels nearby that offer a better experience for their guests.
