I was attracted to this place because of the patio outside and the sign said homemade pasta. The waitresses were very sweet that is 1 thing. The food so disappointing. After having an issue with something you would think the manager would come out and speak to your table which he did not. Everything is very over priced. The seafood is not good at all. Calamari was so bland and gross. I specifically asked for brown butter if they could do that because if not I would not have ordered the meal I did. I was told they could but it was not brown butter but some terrible oil mixture. Total turn off. The bathroom is gross broken toilet seat, they can't spend 15$ to replace that? I have pics of the homemade pasta sign and the toilet. Very disappointing experience go elsewhere!! We were better off just grabbing pizza and cheesesteaks on the boardwalk and saving $70! When we went to go leave all of the waitresses were just sitting there. The restaurant is outdated and the carpet smells. Dont waste your time, the only positive was the upper deck for outside seating.
In reference to your reply: Browning butter is a basic culinary skill. I only eat crabs with brown butter which is why BEFORE I ordered my $30 snow crab pot I asked if it was possible. Had I been told no, I would have ordered something else. Secondly, you repeated more than once how it is something you do not sell or make, then you should have said no we dont have brown butter, and I would have ordered something else. You did not reply to your sign advertising "homemade pasta" which is what attracted us in the first place, however you do not make or sell homemade pasta at all. Pretty sure that's false advertisement. Next, you stated you didnt know you had to come to the table, well unfortunately maybe that's why you only have 3 stars, a good restaurant manager knows when a guest is unhappy they should go speak with them. As for your wait staff just sitting there, shift change or not I've never seen or heard of a restaurant manager making excuses for their entire staff sitting there EATING while guests are watching, completely unprofessional. If Gordon Ramsey walked into your establishment he would have been appalled and probably shut you down! Lastly, your defensive and arrogant responses to almost every bad review doesnt help. You adding in at the end "have a wonderful summer" does not mean you are an attentive, concerned business owner who genuinely cares about their guests. My guess is you are only still in business because of the amount of traffic on the boardwalk, NOT because you own a beautifully kept restaurant that serves WONDERFUL food at a FAIR price. Hope you have a...
Read moreI just sat back and read all these very entertaining reviews some people are seriously ridiculous but I am a fair man and I am not picky but this evening I came to your stablishment and have more complaints then one.. All my complaints are specifically about the food.. I order prime rib and scallops. I will give the scallops 2 thumbs up but the prime rib I give it no thumbs.. totally bland, dry, worst prime rib I ever had. I find it hard that somebody can mess up a prime rib that bad.. Also, looked forward to the garlic mashed potatoes. I think you guys ran out of garlic that night because there was definitely none in there... overpowered by dill spicing... My date had the stuffed lobster with crabmeat, Totally unimpressive overpowered by too much cheese and once again bland flavoring And to top it off we are both sitting here with indigestion from bad food . Anyone reading this review can go back and look at my reviews and see that I definitely give credit where credit is due but this place does not deserve it... With tip we spent $100 I could have used that money to have a much better time on the boardwalk and eaten boardwalk food...one last thing I waited 40 minutes for this food that was sub par wish I had 4 hands so I can give this place 4...
Read moreHaving never been here or seen the place before, I was a little dissaoear Ted when I saw the place. Right on the boardwalk, nice views, but kinda thrown together on the inside. On the second floor of the boardwalk, you can tell the space wasn't intended for nice restaurant.
Then I saw the prices, given the environment, I wasn't to thrilled. Averaging about $30 a head didn't really fit the decide or crowd.
But in the end I have to say, although the food was thrown in the diner style plates, it was actually pretty good. I was shocked. Everything was tasty, cooked to order and not some greasy mess as I honestly expected. Just about everything comes with steamed veggies and garlic mashed potatoes and you only really have the selection of a broiled steamed or fried very plain food, other then their sandwiches and burgers. Although all very simple, at least they have a cook that knows how to keep a simple meal tasting great and fresh.
I would come back if the prices matched environment and food. This restaurant could do much better if they lowered their prices. I know that sounds backwards, but it's never that full and I'm sure there are not a lot of second commers. They could keep a steady crowd with weekly specials on items and overall...
