Horrible treatment of paying customers. My husband wanted to go for fathers day. So we went this past Sunday and there were 6 of us and spent over $120 for food that was not that great. My husband has broke his feet last April and really can not walk the whole board walk and still had most of his picture of beer left. As you know you can not leave with beer anyway so I had spoken to two of the wait staff our waitress and another that came around. I asked if he could move two a small table that sits just 2 people instead of stsying at the 6+ table hat we were seated at. Both told us no problem they appreciate him moving to a smaller table and to stay as long as he likes. After about 1 hour the security members decided he was not allowed to sit there cause he never ordered food and only had beer. He tried to explain that he just ate with his family and they will be coming back and I had the receipt to prove we ate there. He also had the box with left over pizza and they said that did not mean anything. So they made him move to the picnic tables in the sun and were very rude. When I got back I asked what happened and showed the bald so called security manager our paid receipt. He kept saying did you pay for this? I told him several times yes and he was holding my paid receipt. He continued to have words with my husband and was very rude to my husband and I. He kept threatening to call the police and called my husband drunk which he was not. He was also being very rude to me and I had not 1 drink that day and told him I am not intoxicated and wanted to speak to the real manager of this place and he flat out denied me that right and said he takes care of everything there and to leave or he will call the police for causing a disturbance. I asked for his name and I was told me he does not have to give me any info. I went over and asked the hostess for his name and they said they did not know? And they looked over to him and so he came over and I said oh you have them trained not to give your name when asked. He said they know the routine. So I guess there routine is bad customer service and everyone sticks to the routine. Years ago this place was great but apparently they either have new owners or just hire rude employees. Won't be...

Review for Courtney at The Sawmill, Seaside Heights, NJ

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Sawmill in Seaside Heights, NJ, and we must commend Courtney, the bartender, for providing an exceptional experience. Courtney is the epitome of professionalism—she is incredibly attentive, funny, and has a fantastic personality that truly enhances the atmosphere. From the moment we arrived, Courtney took excellent care of us. Her prompt service and top-notch drink-making skills are unparalleled. She consistently ensured our drinks were perfect and served with a smile. Courtney's ability to engage with customers and make everyone feel welcome is truly remarkable. Additionally, Courtney's food recommendations were tremendous. Every dish she suggested was delicious and perfectly complemented our drinks. We particularly loved the Pork Roll Egg and Cheese Sandwich and the dozen wings, which were both flavorful and satisfying. The service was so outstanding that we felt compelled to speak with Jess, the bar manager, to express our appreciation. Jess was equally wonderful and appreciated our feedback about Courtney's exceptional service. Our time at The Sawmill was overwhelmingly fun, thanks to Courtney's pleasant demeanor and quick service. If you're looking for a great night out with outstanding service, be sure to visit The Sawmill and ask for Courtney. She is a true gem and deserves all the praise for making our experience...

I have been coming to Sawmill pizza since I was a kid, when it opened in the late 70’s. Always really good beach pizza and the size of the slices was the biggest I have ever seen.

The last time I was here was about 5 yrs ago and it was still very good.

Always fresh.

Fast forward to today, Sept 2023, my husband and I wanted to stop in after collecting sea shells at IBSP, for what we remember as a memorable slice of Heaven and the PIZZA WAS AWFUL. It tasted like they premade the pies ahead of time and then added toppings and reheated at the time of ordering. There was no way this pizza was fresh. The cheese wasn’t even melted into the pie and it was hard. My husband pointed it out to the waitress when she asked how everything was and she wAs very sweet and asked if we wanted a new pie. My husband said no unless they made it fresh and asked if it could just be cooked longer to melt the cheese I guess you can imagine that this didn’t change anything. It was still horrible. I barely ate one slice, my husband about 1.5 slices and we left the pie, which has never happened before.

Not sure if The Sawmill is trying to cut costs or save money, but it’s clearly not working. Go back to the old school way of making pizza pies, where the cheese comes out fresh, bubbling and hot. Go back to the way that made you famous since 1977 ( or...

Huge portions! Great Staff! Only drawback is the very loud noise level inside. Pictured below is the Cobb Salad, Sawmill Burger, & Clams/Linguini. Not pictured were the Fantastic App's! (Cheeseballs, Pretzel Bites, & Coconut Shrimp)....also not pictured my $10 20oz. Pina Colada. So don't let those $$$ fool you on cost. There's plenty! You can easily dine here for a lot less. I'm just one of those people who likes to try a lot in one trip! So the breakdown for our part of 3....3 app's, 3 entrees, 2 alcoholic beverages and 1 non. Before tip $109 on a peak summer Friday night.Did not have to wait for a table either.Highly recommend, will be back next season.....have to try the pizza; looks amazing! I could probably wear a slice as a top they are that big...might need 2......but they are huge......roughly 7 pepperoni across the crust. Have I mentioned the incredible staff??? Wicked nice, prompt, & attentive!
