Tonight was the first time we visited this supermarket. To our surprise, we had a horrendous experience during checkout.
The cashier at station #6 was extremely rude. When I was putting stuff onto the belt, he said āgive me your bagā. I handed him the bags we brought. Then he started to scold me for not putting stuff in the right order (order he wanted to bag stuff inļ¼ according to him). I tried to ignore him by not saying anything, but he went on and on. While he was still complaining, my husband came and was very surprised to see me being scolded by the cashier and said he would put everything into bags himself.
Though the cashier went into length accusing me for not putting things on belt as he wanted, he didnāt bag anything for us. Instead, he tried to scan our items as fast as he could and threw them toward my husband. The main purpose of that, I believe, was to ensure we would't be able to bag everything in time. While my husband was still putting things into bags, he pushed our stuff over abruptly and rudely so he could start with the next customer. Finally we had to collect all our stuff and put them back into shopping cart so we could bag them elsewhere.
This was absolutely the worst checkout experience we ever had at any Asian supermarket. I tried to find store manager after this to file a complaint but couldnāt find any.
We will never bother to visit this store and risk being treated so rudely again.
Update: we contacted the store multiple times after this unpleasant incident. First time, my husband called the store manager and was told they would follow up on this and get back to us. After hanging up, we realized the manager didn't ask for our phone number so it's impossible for him to get back to us. The second time, I went to the store in person. This time, a lady was in office. She told me bluntly that there's only one male cashier and since she considers him to be very good in service, she doesn't believe what I said has actually happened. Also she asked me to explain why I was treated differently by the cashier. I was stunned again by the rudeness and asked her why would I want to waste my time making such things up. A guy was also in the office. He has much better attitude and appeared sorry to hear our experience. I left our phone number with the office.
Regardless, three days after the incident, we still haven't heard anything from the store manager or anyone from the store to explain why this had happened and apologize to us. Now we begin to realize the store manager never intended to do anything about it, that's why he didn't bother to ask for our phone number.
This is the longest review I have ever written. It's a good lesson learned. If we were to be mistreated again, we would handle it right on spot. Otherwise, dishonest business like this store will simply deny any wrongdoing and ignore you.
Well, we are done with this store. That's the least we can do to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBetter than driving to the international district! Produce, seafood, frozen food, condiments, snacks, plants...everything is on point! Good prices and they seriously have everything you'd look for in Chinatown. PLUS there's a delicious dim sum restaurant next door that I love. Roasted pork and duck...mmmm mm! So good. There's a huge parking lot, but it's shared with other business (a gym, hobby lobby, pet store) so it's busy, but there always seems to be someone leaving so you don't have to drive around for too long. If you need a dependable, clean, organized Asian market in your life, this could be your spot! And even if you're not into Asian fare, the produce beats any regular grocery store so...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePro: Conveniently located Asian market in north Seattle area. Has a nice variety of vegetables, meats, snacks, sauces, and kitchen tools. Serves as a decent one stop shop for Asian food needs. Cons: Compared to other Asian markets like 99 Ranch and H Mart, this place is a little dated and gloomy. Their organization of products is a bit weird. There are little islands of items in addition to the shelves. Normally it's not a problem but it makes it hard to social distance with not a lot of free space sometimes. Long lines. 85% of the time I'm there, there are long lines. I was there at 6 pm on a weekday and that have only 2 lines open with each line about 8-10...
