Edit 2: Changing to 4 since the management reached out to me and are sincerely trying to ensure that such an experience does not repeat.
Edit: Changing my rating to 3 as JD was kind enough to fix the haircut.
Original: I had the strangest, most absurd haircut ever here. Completely agree with the others here about a hit or miss. I went for a walk in and got assigned to whoever who was available then. Right from the beginning to the end, my stylist asked me every few seconds if I was okay with the length. I could barely see what she did because she was asking so frequently. Plus I had given clear instructions to start with - it's her job to understand it and make minor adjustments if necessary. And then suddenly, to my horror, I started to see that she was cutting everything out of proportion. I told her that and she panicked and started making big cuts. I felt completely helpless because I couldn't stop her. I ended up looking like a joke and all my sides are still disproportionate. I'm not even sure if I should go back to get it fixed and have her touch my hair. To top it all off, she gave me a very very uncomfortable shampoo. She only touch applied it to the top of my hair and didn't even wash it completely.
What a terrible experience ugh. I won't take her name because that would be very lowly of me but if you're reading this - please only go here if you were recommended a stylist and...
Read moreHave been going to Rudy's for over a year and during that time the customer service has remained quite high. Unfortunately, the skill level of the stylists has has been on a downswing from quite good to, as of today, absolutely mediocre / on par with Super Cuts. My regular stylist left the company and for the past few months I've been trying to find another within the Rudy's "family". Each have been fairly "ok" however my prior cut a few weeks ago was horrid (uneven, spots skipped, even had people ask "what happened?") and today the young stylist was argumentative when I was attempting to explain my preferred cut and seemed as if he couldn't get me out of there fast enough. The end result was a 5-minute Super Cuts style mediocre trim and the last time I will ever visit. If you're in the market for a ditto style men's cut - super short sides/back with a little longer on top / pseudo military style ... - this place will suit you just fine. If however, you are a bit more specific in what you like and are accustomed to having a cut that garners "hey ... nice hair!" then look elsewhere. I've given them plenty of opportunity - they just will not listen. Off on my search for a real...
Read moreTL;DR: Abrasive stylist, but a local staple.
I've been hunting for a good barbershop for some time now. I've noticed Rudy's around town and avoided it for being a chain. I finally looked into Rudy's history and was pleased to see they're a locally founded operation, so I decided to give them a chance.
I popped into this location between errands for a quick touch up. I am growing out my hair from a summer buzz cut, and just wanted a clean up. I was a walk-in and seated in less than five minutes - great! But the great ended there. My experience with the barber was terrible. They seemed inconvenienced to cut my hair, irritated that I didn't have a clear style request, and condescending in between. I understand folks have bad days, but in a service job I reasonably expect a level of professionalism.
I'm giving this joint three stars to call attention to the poor experience, but hopefully not dissuade others from trying it themselves. As for me, I won't soon return to a Rudy's. There are too many other barbershops in town that offer a comparable service with a...
