A surprisingly good deli / coffee shop / convenience store. I'll skip over the convenience store part (it has stuff, whatever). Finding a good sandwich in Seattle has proven surprisingly difficult. There are delis on the Ave (in name only), but nothing that's really stood out. Turns out the corner store nearest me was secretly a refreshingly good deli all along. Don't let the look deceive you, this place has some of the best sandwiches around. During lunch it's crowded with a bit of a line and/or wait, but stick it out, it's well worth it. The coffee has also proven to be superb; they carry Stumptown Coffee Roasters. The espresso machine is cleaned between every cup of coffee, avoiding that lingering / burned taste you get at so many other places nearby. Easily the best coffee in...
Read moreI think it's a bit overpriced, but it's also one of the few places open late nights unless you want to go to Safeway almost a mile up the road. So if you're a weary college student up late and love close to here, I think it's normally worth the hassle it saves to come here rather than Safeway if you only need a few things. Expect to find junk food, drinks (actually a decent selection of non-alcoholic and alcoholic), ice cream, some frozen dinners. Healthy options they do have milk, cheese, bacon, and some (bad) fruit, but very little selection. There's also a deli but I don't think it's open late night so I've never tried it, although they all sell deli meat (which is again,...
Read moreThe owner is a nice guy and the staff are friendly and do a great job.
The sandwhiches they make are all very good and they use top notch bread and meats. Their bacon is supper yummy. I'm adicted to the Buffalo Connection and get it on days I need a pick me up.
As for the groceries, there is no doubt you're paying more then you would at Safeway or Krogers, but they have a surprisingly good selection of things, espessily for colledge students seeing how close this is to the Uni.
To sum up, it's a great market with good people working at it. You have to get a sandwhich here. As someone who lives very close, it's the main grocery option if you're walking or...
