Writing this to try to remind myself to avoid Stop & Shop. Every few weeks, I'll forget and think that it's a better deal to go to S&S compared to Whole Foods. But the prices are -- if anything -- worse. And the scanners are a completely different experience; the minute I set my own shopping bags down on the right, the system goes into alarm, and a worker has to come over to ensure that I'm not trying to steal anything and reset the system. Then there will be at least one more alert requiring a worker to help again. I would chalk this up to user error, but the self-checkout at other stores is not this problematic. In over a dozen visits to Whole Foods, for example, I will never require assistance using the self-checkout. Perhaps S&S is set up with the presumption that customers can't be trusted, and it is supposed to alert at the slightest irregularity? Either way, my recent visit to this store was a good reminder that it just isn't worth it. I'd rather go to an equally expensive grocery store near my home, or drive further to a place like Market Basket, which at least has...
Read moreAWFUL FLORIST MANAGER. I don't know what her name is, all I know is she has terrible customer service skills. I have been trying to get a hold of her for a couple of weeks and left messages with her associates which she didn't get. I finally get a hold of her and she is probably the rudest person I have ever spoken to on the phone. I was calling regarding wedding bouquets, meaning good money for the store. She put me on hold for 5 minutes so she could go check her vacation schedule. I was disconnected from her and I called back, still just as rude from out first encounter. I should have hung up immediately but I figured I would give it her a few more tries. She asks what kind flowers I want and I continue to tell her sunflowers peonies....she cuts me off immediately mid sentence "we don't do peonies". I was done, I just told her I was all set and hung up. A wedding is a very special day and by this women's attitude she wasn't going to make it easy. Just be nice to your customers its not that hard. Especially to the ones who would have dropped a lot of money for...
Read moreStephanie and Adam deserve raises!!! I just worked a full shift, picked my toddler up, and had to stop at the grocery store around 7 PM on Wednesday. Stephanie and Adam were the only cashiers but there were other workers standing around gossiping. I was fine bagging my own groceries but when Adam saw and finished up with his customer he took over, unlike any of the other employees standing in the banking area chatting (about 4-5 of them, one was back and forth from self check out) - However another customer came up to Adam’s register and instead of ANY of the employee’s going to help they instead shouted to Adam that he had another customer waiting while he was helping bag my groceries. He quickly finished and went right back over to his station while they kept on talking. Give raises to the hard workers,...
