Went to Costco optical on Nov. 30 to get a multifocal lens for computer work. Waited two weeks, order finally came in (husband 3 days, me 2 weeks) put the glasses on they seemed fine in store. I thought something was off a bit because I could see really well at the distance level and just a bit okay with intermediate (with multifocal lens there is supposed to be a very small area to see distance and the intermediate area is enlarged for computer work and small area at the bottom to see the keyboard). I work very long hours on a computer. When I got home, I sat down and was amazed I could see the TV just fine which is about 10 feet away. I pull my laptop towards me and I can't see anything but a sliver of a portion of sentence in an email that was only open to one half of the screen on my computer. I adjusted the glasses on my face because these lenses are a type of progressive lenses sometimes you have to find the area on the lens. Well, I found the little pinhole area and had to move my entire body from side to side to read one sentence. This was not what they sold me. These were a regular progressive not the multi-focal lens they promised. So back to Costco I go. First, I spoke with a very rude woman who told me they were going to charge me to fix them (yeah, that wasn't going to happen LOL) then a guy (we'll call him Skippy) who explained to me that these are progressive lenses and that they assumed I was comfortable with them. Wait wait wait. You told me these were different; these are multifocal computer progressive lenses specifically designed for computer work and were different form of progressive lens. Yes, that's correct, he says. I say draw on the lens where the intermediate range is: BINGO he draws the little tiny circle in the center of the lens and I say, well that is the regular progressive lens not the multifocal computer lens. He then tells me they are the same thing... WHAT?!? Why do you have two pictures clearly stating they are two different types of lenses? Oh, that's just to show you what these lenses can do... WHAT?!? That is not what was explained to me when I purchased them. He tells me he's sorry that they didn't explain that to me. So, Skippy here reorders my lenses to a single lens because I have to be able to read a dang email without rocking side to side all dang day.
Fast forward a week later. My husband who ordered the same dang lenses 5 days ago and gets his news glasses today. Guess what? They are perfect. He can see his entire screen which is 32" gaming computer screen. So, Skippy LIED through his teeth to me. Looked me squared dead in the eye and LIED. Made me feel like I did something wrong when, in fact, they ordered the wrong lens. So now I'm mad that I was lied to. Today we were helped by a lovely young woman who explains the different "multi-focal progressive" lenses. There is SUPPOSED to be a bigger area for the intermediate and she draws on the lenses where this area should beāmore like an hourglass shape. That is NOT what Skippy drew on my lenses and told me. HE LIED. So, they give me a $25 credit to try them again (big whoop - the glasses cost me $250 minus the whopping $7.00 credit they gave me to swap out for single vision lenses). I'm grateful to the young lady that waited on us and for the credit, but I don't think this addressed my concern. I asked to speak with a supervisor and she kind of dismissed me and I let it go.
So, to summarize, either they ordered the wrong lenses or the lab screwed up, Skippy tells me they are right (but now we know he LIED because he's lazy and probably didn't want to get into trouble) I will still call and speak to the warehouse manager or if can't for some reason reach them because of gatekeeping I will contact Costco's head office. This is not over, not by...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn the last 6 months there has been an issue EVERY time Iāve been there, from quality of items purchased (chicken and pork lion specifically; $50 down the literal drain!), to the customer service, to the sample people. I usually go to Costco to get my gas so kept coming here but after the last time, I will be coming here only for gas and go to another Costco for my shopping.
Customer service rep Sirena was really rude and I was surprised at that 1. because I was having an issue with membership RENEWAL, and also mentioned when she started to get snippy at me that could she excuse me because I have brain damage which makes information comprehension hard at times especially with numbers, and she CONTINUED to be condescending with me, sighing at me - really?! Because 2. youāre NOT the pizza slanging guy, youāre one of the first faces someone sees for returns/membership, and assumed management.
The time before that, Iād been rung up and noticed while charged the right price per pound for chicken breast, the sticker said it was for thigh. Having done the math and also a mom who cashiers at Walmart, I understand SKU numbers can throw off entire inventory on a product, so wanted to let the floor leads know they may need to look into the issue for their books to be right - NOT for them to hold me up personally investigating my receipt with my price tag with their computers SKUs - I was obviously not over charged and if alllll the chicken is mismarked, they could send an employee to the case of chickens and verify/change it all at once back there, right? Wrong. They took my receipt and wouldnāt return it to me ābecause we need to see why the computer is mislabeling the right prices on the chicken breast as thighsāā¦.for like ten minutes! Whatās more, I donāt eat samples because of allergies and had been there awhile, was visibly weakened and just wanting to go to to the food counter and get some sugar in me, but was blocked from doing that while waiting - why?
Time before that, Iād ordered a bed on .com and knowing theyāre separate processes, didnāt even try to order online and talk to someone in store. Then my mattress showed available at this club so went phsycially there to buy, āNo sorry, we donāt have any of this here for you itās at the depot which is for online ordersāā¦finally got the mattress and delivery was all beat up.
One of these visits I bought a $35 pork loin and the end of it was spoiled, a slight rotten smell implying maybe it hadnāt been transported right or stored correctly. As I didnāt have anything else to cook nor the time to turn around and go back, I cut that end off plus extra length, and cooked the rest with caution. I noticed that trip plus the next one that when I bought chicken breast, the packages of chicken were slightly sticky as if some chicken liquid had leaked all over the other packages. DISGUSTING.

On a plus side, Diego in the pizza court is AWESOME and deserves to trade places...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery rude employee! I was at Costco 1006 (15330 IH 35 North Selma, Texas) and I had a bad experience with an employee named Alyssa (badge 705). I was in line at the self check out and it was a long line. My wife had to go to the restroom while I waited in line. She was not back yet when it was my turned to pay. I started to let people go before me because she had my credit card. Alyssa saw this so she knew I was letting people through. As soon as I saw my wife, Alyssa called for the next customer so I pulled up. She immediately reprimanded me by saying that next time I cannot just cut in front of people. I politely said I didnāt. I was just waiting for my wife and I was already in line. She said next time I need to go back to the end of the line. I could not stand there. Alyssa had a very rude tone about her as if she was having a bad day. Her tone did not sit well with me. I have done customer service for 35 1/2 years and thatās just not how you speak to your customer. I told her that I didnāt know there was a rule. She could have told me this while she saw me let people through. I told her that she was very rude and I am a paying customer and she should not addressed me on such a manner. She said WHATEVER! Just very ugly about it. I am on a verge of cussing this young person out because she had no regards for customer service whatsoever. Alyssa continued to match wits with me and even wave her hand for me to go away. I walked away and let my wife finished the transactions. I asked my wife how come she didnāt say anything. My wife said I had said enough. This is my second time visiting this locations and I can tell that they lack customer service training. Customer satisfaction is not their priority. I will make sure not to visit this location again. Once my membership expires, I will not renew. Samās Warehouse is much better. Iām lot sure why I added Costco to my list of place to spend my hard...
