The positives first, it had a great selection of groceries at prices comparable with other grocery markets. Their deli was definitely lacking, not a big selection and the lady behind the counter did not speak English. I heard someone ask a complete stranger if he could tell her what he needed because he noticed the customer was bilingual. I think the staff person behind the counter should have been bilingual. With that said Food City does have many Hispanic products to choose from because my family loves food from many cultures. Bakery was also small and didn't have a large selections. Produce was good, meat, dairy and staples all good. Has a nice bulk size section. With groceries has high as they are finding any great deals are few at any of them anymore. If I'm over there and I don't want to fight the crowd at Walmart and I don't need things I can't buy at regular grocery stores I'll shop...
Read moreTruly a welcoming, friendly grocery store. Staff were attentive, friendly and truly a joy to speak to. Francisco-bakery department, Alex in the meat department, and Martin the store manager helped me with any questions I had. Welcomed me with open arms not only to the store, but to Arizona as well. There is the deli manager, I forgot her name, but I want to make sure she was acknowledged as well! It does not feel like your typical corporate grocery store. It feels like you’re part of a family who will always help you while being loving and kind throughout the years you continue to revisit their store.
Their products are wonderful, reasonable prices and I love many of their products from Mexico. 🇲🇽. I look forward to coming back to their store for many years to come.
Thank you for welcoming me. It means more to me than any of you...
Read moreThe best store in town. Meat is cut fresh daily off hanging cows and pigs, and it's very well prices. On sale, it's almost a steal. Really kind people at the meat/cheese department (and such great whole milk undyed Mexican cheeses). Cuts of meat that I don't see elsewhere, so I can experiment. Beautiful produce--sometimes 10% smaller than the grocery stores aimed at richer people in town, but half the price. Anyone can do that math and see this is the place to shop.
I don't eat baked goods any longer, just meat/fruit/cheese/veg, but it had the most amazing donuts in town too a few years ago.
I love it, and the clerks are always friendly and they use clerks, not self-checkout. The whole staff is bilingual. It's like a trip back to small town 1965 for me. If it ever closes, I'll be...
