DO NOT use this location for any type of PC repair. I originally dropped off my PC after it was damaged in a move. I clearly explained that the issues with the PC; it powers on briefly only to power back off again. I only needed a quote to be compensated by the movers. The Store manager (Phil) told me that it would be 7-10 days just to look at it, and I said that was fine. I asked if he needed the cord to the Power Supply Unit (PSU) and he said "I wouldn't be a repair shop if I didn't have all that stuff". After 7 days with no contact from the store, I called to see what the status was. I talked to the other store employee (Cody) and he told me it would be another 7 days before they could look at the PC because everyone was out sick. I agreed to let them keep it to try to diagnose the problem. Cody told me they do not do quotes and he has never done them before, after I had already confirmed on the phone and in person that I only brought it for a quote. He said he would talk to Phil and see if he could do one. The next day, Cody called me while troubleshooting the PC and was clearly not familiar with computers as he doesn't know the difference between small form factor PSUs and standard form factor PSUs. He informed me that the power supply was bad and that I would need to purchase another one so that they could continue to test my PC. I found this ridiculous as they are an electronics repair shop. I asked if I would be compensated for the power supply if they damaged it during testing. Cody said no they would not. I spoke to Phil next and he confirmed they would compensate me if my second power supply was damaged. This lack of communication between employees was prevalent throughout the entire ordeal. After driving to the PC repair store with the second PSU, Phil hooked it up to the tester and told me that this PSU was also bad. I found this highly improbable but as I had not independently tested it I had no proof. I drove home and immediately tested the second PSU I had just brought to them. I confirmed with a multimeter and took a video to prove that it does in fact work just fine. I proceeded to call the store and Cody answered. I told him the PSU I brought into the store works and he says "no it doesn't" so at this point I became quite frustrated. I said that I just wanted my PC back. I drove back to the store to pick up my PC. I showed the video of the PSU working to Phil in the store. And he said "oh you got it to work that's great" without a single apology for zero communication on their end thoughout the process, an inability to diagnose basic PC issues, no supply of basic testing parts on hand, and straight up arrogance/incompetence from both store employees. I really hope they fix phones well for all the other 5 star reviews they have as this was a complete waste of fuel and hours of my time attempting to explain basic PC troubleshooting to...
Read moreBeware of this place at all costs. Every experience I've been met with terrible performance, shoddy excuses, then my last experience they tried to blame me for "my lack of covering what worked and what didn't work prior to allowing them to fix my device".
First time in, they broke my laptop and gave me free lifetime coverage. I nodded and said "Okay, sounds good." Seemed like a legitimate way to get a loyal customer and the laptop worked fine. Although, the damage they did later became more apparent.
Second time in, I brought an Xbox One controller in along with my gaming laptop. They patched up my controller for free because apparently if they can fix it on the counter, it has to be free so if you give them a small device (though, I don't ever recommend this place to anyone) make sure they stay at the counter. Anyways, I told them my laptop wouldn't boot and crashed all of a sudden. We both ended on it probably being an OS issue and they said they'd roll it back from Windows 11 to 10. I left thinking it was in good hands. Boy was I wrong. Not only did I have to go out of my way to purchase a USB, install a new windows 10 on it, then bring it in, but apparently they opened my laptop up to check for hardware issues. That's where my problem started. After I got my laptop back and checked to see if it would boot, I was satisfied and left smiling, but when I got home I realized that the entire left side ports wouldn't work. USBs and audio ports. I called them and explained my concern, but they said that I should've stated that those ports worked prior to them "fixing" the laptop. Yeah, I was told that over the phone. Of course I told them everything worked. They asked me that very question and I said "The only issue with it is that it's not booting up now." I never said anything about ports because they worked fine. That's how I was able to use my headset and other devices. Essentially it boils down to a terrible technician who didn't listen to me, opened up my laptop without my permission, damaged the ports, then claimed it's my fault because I didn't check to see if everything worked on the counter after they gave it back to me. I could not believe the way I was treated.
DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE EVER! Don't even think about it. If you do, tread very, VERY, lightly and always ask for receipts AND have them stand with you to check to see if EVERYTHING on your device works prior to putting it in...
Read moreI can't really say that I would recommend this shop. Almost a year ago I was down there going and having the thermals on my Nintendo switch redone. It was the middle of summer and the fan has started to grind. I took it down and had the paste and fan replaced for about 80. Now I don't game on the switch as much these days as the kids have largely claimed it. Last week they said that it was shutting off. I decided to look at it and when I opened it up to my surprise there were a lot of things wrong with it. The first thing I noticed is that the heat pipe was bent. This is bad as it prevents the heat from traveling to the heatsink to be blown out by the fan. We normally see it bent like that when someone grabs it by the top and pulls trying to remove it. As I continued the teardown I noticed that the fan was rattling. I took a look at it and the fan they replaced it with was missing the rubber O rings. These are important because they keep the fan from moving. When it rattles it can become damaged. As I continued my teardown I found that quite a bit of thermal paste was leaking out of the IHS assembly and the top was bulging. When I took it off I found that an insane amount of thermal grease was used and it was running off the die head, across the AFO and on its way to the flash chips. I decided to order a new fan with rubber O rings, a new heatsink assembly, a new IHS, and some paste. Total material cost was about 40 bucks and 30 minutes of time spent just cleaning up the excess.
Photos included are from when I was replacing the fan and cleaning everything up. Been repairing things for 20 years and I've never delivered a unit back like this. I've never drowned a unit in grease either as too much acts as an insulator. Be careful with this shop please. Inspect your items when you get them back. Now the switch is back to normal and running about 21C cooler. The kids no longer have a desire to sacrifice me to the Mario gods. This is what 80 dollars of work looks like I guess.
November 19th 2024 update: I reached out to support via email and phone a number of times. There was no solution in sight as they "don't know what to do." Just stay away from this company. They don't know what responsibility is. Just repair your own stuff and build a skill set. You're better off...
