Awful place!!! This is the 2nd time I had ever been here, the first time was on Mothers Day and my 6yr daughter lost a very special ring off her finger, a very kind lady shopping saw us looking for it and let me know she had turned it in to the front desk; the manager/owner along with employees acted like they couldn't find it and seemed upset I wouldn't just leave without...needless to say it was right under the checkout counter on shelf. Okay we were thankful to find it & left...so FFwd to my most recent trip I went in and was buying 4 jeans, 2 tshirts , and a pair of casual gym pants, checkout gal was so rude!! I was paying in cash total of $180 but they wouldn't take 50 bills so she suspended transaction & I went to get smaller bills at gas station and returned 3 min. later to pay but when I arrived they were ransacking the items I was purchasing and totally accused me of swapping tags. Worst part was one of the jeans didn't have a tag at all and she priced it for me, another item was priced at $9 for a sport bra of all things & she told me it was not right and priced that at $22, told her to keep it. When I asked which items they assumed were switched they refused to tell me, mind you I was buying jeans that were priced at $34(good American & hudson) & one was priced at $21(free people) tags say brand and size right on them and all brand to brand run pretty much around same price from what i saw, so when she was accusing me of swapping tags and I kindly told her that I did not do any such thing, the owner/manager told me she has had problems with me in past!?! What when they tried stealing my daughters ring the only other time I was there?!? This is the only style encore I've ever been to in my life!!! The employees and managers are all miserable people from what it seems. Ive been to platos closet one time b4, over a year ago, and only to sell but I'm pretty much positive they stole 2 alo yoga leggings and a pair of miss me jeans from my tote. I was told it wasnt there problem when i called to notify them of what happend, and worst part was that I ended up only making $3.50 I believe it was; 1 & only time I ever went there too and never had any intention of going back bc my aunt had brought a tote to platos as well shortly before I did to sell of all bran new tagged high price dept. clothing, she only buys name brand clothing and she's a perfectionist when it comes to cleanliness besides so all perfect bran new condition and they told her "they lost" the entire tote and wouldnt compensate her for any of it bc they said she should have stayed and waited! Well come to find out its same owner for both stores. Wouldn't have given them any business at all if I had known that...Yah right Im the problem! They are crooks themselves which is probably why they falsely accuse others. I felt scrutinized and awful all day bc of the way I was treated at this store. Never in my life have I had such a bad experience anywhere!! Go next door to nu2u I bought a pair of Hudson jeans, Buffalo, sevens, and a Duluth T for $35 & the gal working across the street is so kind & nice! They actually deserve the business! I'm not one to write negative reviews but this one is necessary bc people to know what they do and how terrible you just could get treated. Don't let it...
Read moreI stopped in to this store yesterday and bought a few items. After leaving I realized I was charged the original amount for a shirt that still had the original tags attached. I went back today to explain they had charged me wrong, no one apologized and they said they didn’t know what to do so I said I’d look while they figured it out. When I found another shirt and went to pay they offered me $2 store credit. I thought that was way too low but said fine use it for this shirt, however they stated they couldn’t since the shirt was on sale. I then said they needed to refund me the money they owed me in the first place or needed to find another solution as it was their “mix up”. All three workers were rude to me and said that wasn’t an option and didn’t offer to find another way to help. They said I’d need to call their manager and take it up with him myself. Never have I been treated so badly by customer service workers who actually had caused the issue in the first place. I will not be back ever.
If you have the chance don’t waste your time. Go to the Omaha store, they are way nicer, are very helpful, and have a much much better selection!
(Edit to Reply) I tried to purchase a shirt and was told I couldn’t use the coupon for it. After I asked to return the original shirt I was told I couldn’t do that either, I’d just have to lose the money on it. I went back that day because I was excited to look again despite the workers ignoring me the previous day and asked about the refund then because I live 3 hours away. It wasn’t even about the $1.40, it was the fact that if I wanted to spend full price on the shirt I would’ve gone to the store and bought it where I would’ve been greeted politely and they would’ve had no problem returning it. When I offered other solutions and tried to be helpful by just using the coupon on a shirt from your store I was told there was no way that could happen and to speak to a manager who wasn’t even there. So not only have I lost money (yes only $2 could be worse), I left feeling disrespected and cheated as well as knowing I’d never bother...
Read moreVery disappointing! Last year they purchased several designer pieces from me at a very fair price. This week I brought in designer items of the same type that I brought in last year, from Isaac Mizrahi, Bob Mackie, Ralph Lauren, Chicos, Joan Rivers, Simon by Simonton, Dana Buchman, etc. All of them hardly worn or new with tags (I've lost weight and needed to clean my closet). The styles were all "classic" but modern. Examples: Dennis Basso washable suede one-button boyfriend blazer in camel -- new with tags! White House/Black Market little black dress in "throwback" 50's style -- new with tags! They rejected all of them in favor of pieces that frankly I thought I'd be taking home since they were NOT designer and were cheaper and of lesser quality. The young girls that were doing the buying apparently were shopping for themselves since the items they bought were more appropriate for teens or 20-somethings. When I indicated my confusion to the young girl about what they had chosen, she became somewhat belligerent claiming, as she pointed out one of the pieces they rejected stating that it was "faded"...it was new with tags less than 6 months old and was periwinkle blue which she said was supposed to be navy! Color-blind perhaps? I wonder if the owner is aware that the people doing the buying are apparently unfamiliar with couture designers and fashion appropriate for the work place and are turning away boutique-level, new and nearly-new, fashions in favor of teen-wear. I doubt...
