If you need to go go-carting while on vacation, this place checks that box. Other than that, there were really no positives to our visit. The owner working the go cart track was rude and didn't believe my son was 10 (apparently their age limit for this activity). So she started asking him leading questions about his grade in school, etc. It was annoying and unprofessional and put my 10-year old in an uncomfortable position. He had a blast on the go carts, though. The mini go-carts are garbage. We bought two tickets, but only one cart was working. So our 7-year old went on the dinky little track by himself and would have had more fun riding a lawn tractor. We did not stick around for mini golf, the arcade or the batting cages, but there are three other mini golf places nearby (we've been to two that are very nice). There are many great stops in Door County, Johnson's is not...
Read moreWe have been coming to Door County for nearly 40 years, and we have almost always included some time to stop by Johnsons Park.
This place looks like it is on the verge of collapse. The Go-Karts are quite worse for the wear. They've lost all the pep in their step, and sound like they're about to cough up a lung as soon as you step on the gas pedal. The batting cages are in complete disrepair and do not function well, either.
This place doesn't remotely measure up to what we remember of it from the first 20 to 25 years we started vacationing in Door County. It's clear that ownership is simply eager to get out of the business, squeezing whatever profit they can before selling. The deterioration of the park has seemingly accelerated over the last few years.
The cost is not worth the visit until it finally gets sold off and new ownership does a...
Read moreWonderful memories were created at Johnson’s park near Sister Bay, Wisconsin. Staffing a park is difficult, but the matriarch proprietor was on a scooter and she moved mountains to make sure each guest had a smile on his or her face. The young men working the go-carts carefully checked the safety harness of my son. My kids enjoyed swinging, bouncy house, and being cheered on as the owner of the park was yelling “faster faster” as my son enjoyed his first go cart ride. With all the modern games these days, the kids had so much fun at mini golf they decided to play the entire course twice. The memories of a simpler time of playing mini golf as a family will always be cherished and we are grateful for the kind and hard working staff who helped...
