I have been supporting this establishment for years. Though I've been social distancing and I rarely leave my home due to being immune compromised, I intentionally visit this store because I believe it's vital to support black-owned small businesses. During my last couple of visits, they were out of the product I needed. The gentleman asked me to come back the next day because they were receiving a truck and he assured me that they would have the product. I went back (again, I DO NOT leave my home) because I wanted to support them. Again, they didn't have the product. No problem. I went back and they finally had it. The gentleman helped me collect the 5 bags of synthetic hair, but unfortunately, one bag was the incorrect color. I didn't discover this until after arriving home. However, I said to myself, "I'll just exchange it the next time I go back to make a purchase. I'm not putting myself at risk again." Today, I went back to the store to purchase additional bags of hair and exchange the one bag l was given. The young lady told me that I could not exchange it because their policy states there are no exchanges or returns after 30 days. I reiterated that I only shop at their hair store and I only want to exchange it. I like to change my hair and I sirens TONS of money there when purchasing for myself and my niece. The sales lady told me no, and preceded to peach to me about how they havea policy for a reason etc. Additionally, her attitude was not sympathetic at all. As a result, of her actions and the stores policy, I will no longer spend my money with them, nor will I recommend them to any more of my friends and colleagues. From being greeted as I walked in. Help was always available and never overbearing like other non-BOB. I hadn’t been to the establishment in a few months so I walk in and I was greeted I was just stared at. 2 ladies were at the register to the left talking and one was on her phone. I went to locate the items I wanted while in the isle one of the ladies comes beeping around the corner and I saw her so she acted as if she was looking for something. But I knew exactly what it was. So I walked to the front. Looking to check out. Not one person said hey you can check out over here. The one girl who was at the high up register had come down looking at merchandise herself. The other 2 ladies were still on their phone. So I had to yell out is there someone who can help me check out while they’re still staring at me. The energy was so off. I placed my items down and said I’ll just take my business elsewhere. All she said was have a good day. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! Also let me add that I passed by service other beauty supply store just to make my purchase with them. NEVER EVER will I step foot back into this place. I then followed up with a call and asked for a manager and they wanted to know my name. They played on the phone and kept me on hold for about 10 mins and when the same person who answered the phone got back on the line and said that she was the manager I explained to her my horrible experience she tied to justify it and tried to argue with me. As a potential new customer, I wasn’t aware of their closing time however they made it known in a very rude manner from the moment I arrived at the door, Until the moment I decided to just leave. There def. Could have been a different approach in the way they handled it. There was a guy I walked into at the door getting into the store, didn’t know if he worked there or not which I later came to find out he does. The guy just stood and stared at me for a few seconds as if he’d seen a ghost. A simple “smile & a hi how are you welcome! unfortunately we’re closing however we’re opened tomorrow around such and such.”Not at all. I found out the store was closing from a side conversation with an employee to another customer. After realizing they were getting ready to close I asked where to find what I was looking for the lady showed me & informed me they were closing in 2min and proceeded to asking one minute later if found the brand I was looking for bc they were closing. I decided to just leave, only to turn around being met with the other employees looking at me, telling a male employee to “let her out.” No “have a good day” or nothing. Rude ! and I won’t be back.
