If there was a zero rating I would use it. Had the worst experience with my daughter. Had her shoes for about a year - the shoes held up but the inside did not. According to the clerk it was normal wear & tear. I asked for a managers opinion - which was the same. As I was still at the register I noted s dad coming in with his daughter with a very similar issue. Immediately Chris the manager said nope - normal wear & tear. The dad got in line - so I watched & went over to see what happened. The clerk looked at them & then issued him a store credit to replace the shoes. I was floored. I went back to Chris & explained what just happened. He said show me - so I brought him around - he dodged me - went to the office behind the counter & went out the other door to his post. He totally played me. Acting like he would look into the differences - but instead he ducked out. Totally unprofessional. He was rude the entire time as well. I could care less if the shoes were considered normal wear & tear for my daughters shoes - I get it but the total unprofessional way that I was dealt with & attitude of the manager has turned me away from purchasing from LL Bean. I did contact the main office of LL Bean and emailed them and at the end of the day was told by Ben that unfortunately it’s subject to each persons opinion of what they consider normal wear & tear. So I suggested they maybe train their staff to all have the same opinion. Of what they are looking at. That’s so unrealistic for me as s consumer to wrap around my head. So I asked him - so what you’re saying is it depends on who you have look at your shoes? No - it depends on if you’re a dad with his daughter OR if you’re a real good looking mom - that is what I have noticed from what I saw that day. He skirted the answer. I said how about the way your manager behaved - rude - running & dodging me? I got a simple apology. Sad to know that a huge corporate company has forgotten their humble beginnings & the customers that help build their brand. I will no longer shop at LL Beans. What bothers me most is that they didn’t even try to rectify the situation. Poorly...
Read moreMy wife and I purchased two jackets from llbean about two months ago from a Denver llbean. I decided I no longer wanted either and attempted to return both jackets. Both items were washed ONCE but were in excellent condition. Upon arriving to the store, we discovered that the initial purchase was no where to be found in llbeans system. We were told by one employee to reach out to the customer service department and they would look into it and get us a receipt which we could then use to return the items. A week goes by and we finally get a call telling us they found the order and to head to the store to return it. We get to the store and are immediately met with a cold shoulder by Dorric the manager. He explained to us that the order number was incorrect and we couldn’t return it. He declined to inform us what was wrong regarding our order number other than it needed a “01”? He told us to call the department and have them call the internal phone number. Dorric stated rudely that regardless, we would have to return it to Maine. Every associate we have spoken with stated that we could return the item even if it has been washed to any store regardless of the original purchase location as long as we provided the receipt. The llbean department that we spoke with stated that the order number provided was correct and spoke with Dorric on an internal line. After the call ended, Dorric came out and stated rudely he couldn’t return it because “it wasn’t new”, which is another lie. This goes against llbeans return policy even per the department I spoke with. I fully believe that this was a racially motivated decision as customers in front of us and behind us had returns and were both met with a friendly attitude. As a Hispanic male this treatment is ridiculous and I plan to file an internal complaint, speak with the manager above Dorric as well as file a BBB complaint. Absolutely unacceptable behavior...
Read moreBuyer Beware…. Went to this location and the associate I went to at the register had no idea what she was doing. It took over 25 minutes to place an order. Then I received NO RECEIPT and NO EMAIL CONFIRMATION as I was told. My order was supposed to be delivered within five days. Not only did I not receive my order but I never received any email. I called L.L. Bean to inquire about my order status, and I was told that the order actually had been canceled and a refund was being issued. The problem with that is the associate in the store ordered the wrong size and they took my gift card and my $10 coupon and I got nothing . This store and L.L. Bean Corp. did nothing to accommodate this mistake of their employee. I was told I can use my own credit card and place the order for the correct size. How is it that I am going to have to pay again for merchandise that I should’ve already had and no notification of the original order placed? I was provided with nothing but excuses. I will be filing a complaint with consumer protection regarding LL beans business practices. No Cancellation email No Nothing! No wonder LL BEAN CANNOT WARRANTY...
