My partner saw a post about this store on Facebook and as a collector, was eager to make a 50 minute trip from our residence to visit this location. He even saved up quite a bit of money to hopefully make large purchases on some Funko pops. We were utterly disappointed in not just the disarray of the setup the shop that made it difficult to browse through the merchandise (blocked by endless cases and clutter, not easy to see what you'd like to pick out), but the lack of proper customer service. We were in the shop for roughly 40 minutes before the store cashier/clerk greeted us, and it seemed as if interacting with the customers was not something he was interested in. Listening to him on the phone with callers and his response to other patrons in the shop made this very clear. He even left the shop unattended with guests inside to have a cigarette outside. When we asked to see if we can access the back area to look through the collectibles, the response was not to make a mess. if anyone could make this place any messier than it already was. We probably would have spent upwards to 500 or more in this shop, but ended up leaving with zero dollars spent. I would suggest for the owners to refine their staff or at least train them in basic customer service skill.
In response to the comment you wrote back to me, you need to be able to take the good and the bad, react to it and hopefully improve the experience for the consumer. You calling out prior reviews I wrote here shows a lack of professionalism. I seldomly write reviews and only a truly bad experience has taken to Google to want to voice my true frustration. You should be trying to rectify the issue I have instead of trying to make excuses or attack me. As A career I manage a store that does over 1.2m in volume on a weekly basis, so I know what ot takes to do inventory and take part in operations. I'm just telling you the way the store was presented made it difficult for someone to shop and give you sales. But none of this was my primary problem ...it was the fact that your cashier/clerk did not have appropriate customer service skill. He should greet every person that walks into that store and kill them with service. That's how you builda a reputable business. Not by ignoring your customers, walking out of the store to smoke (not sure if the plaza hascameras, but this did happen whether you believe it or not), and then make comments that are borderline rude. All we wanted was to go in there and support your business and we were not given a good experience. You need to own this as customer service is what is going to make any true business successful. There's nothing yoy sell that someone can't find somewhere else, so make the experience in your shop so great that people will choose to come here versus other options. This is All...
Read moreI will give my honest opinons about my visits to this store. I live about 30 minute away a few towns over.. --As a 50 year old gamer/collector i love Retro game stores in the area. All the neg reviews about the clutter & customer support & ESP the pricing IS 100% TRUE..
**I like the Owner. If he were my neighbor or co-worker i'd probably enjoy being his friend but this isn't why i go to his store...
--The last couple times i been there The Owner wasn't there and the employee that was there i suspect are relatives or in-laws of the owner & have absolutely zero comprehension that customers need help & prices & told where this/that is..
--I stopped asking after the 2nd price request annoyed the associate & he over priced the prima strategy guide by about double.($18 bucks for a non collectbale simple Tomb Raider game is about $6-$12 on ebay...
~The prices= I think i know why the prices are over priced. The Owner is one of us! He is a gamer & nerd through & through and doesn't wanna part with his sh err stuff..
-- I don't know why this dude doesn't realize people get annoyed at you looking it up on ebay then telling them a high price for a cheaper game..
-The clutter & disarray... The Pops & Wrestling are for most part set up decent. And so are most of the more modern 2000's era & newer games... But then there's about 20+ cases that all have misc games & things in em. I had no idea where to look & it would require assistance to see whats in each case..
-I only bought something the very 1st time i went there because i knew what i wanted. I old PS3 controller in & out easy peasy. But the other couple times i went i left empty handed...
-I gave two stars100% because the owner is a nice dude.. He needs to price everything & organize. Maybe the Wrestling area is too big & too much misc junk. Like a oldschool Xbox360 store display TV that doesn't work just sitting there.....
M&J i wish you the best & hopefully you can price your stuff more reasonable... -Lastly,,,A great way to get feedback is to have any gamer or friend goto the closest game store and ask opinons about M&J....
i'll end this on a positive, if you are a WWF/WWE orPOP/Funco collector= this place...

This is the second and final time I will ever visit M&T Video Games. My first experience, two years ago, was on my birthday. My mom and boyfriend accompanied me, and we purchased an overpriced Lucario Funko Pop, a used copy of Pokémon Snap for the Switch, and had the batteries in my Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire cartridges replaced (at $15 each). However, the store lost my games for months. After multiple visits and phone calls, the issue was only resolved when my parents got involved. The store eventually replaced the games, but the batteries were still dead, and I never received a refund for the faulty repair. Overall, I was out $30 and had to deal with months of frustration.
Fast forward two years, and I decided to give the store a second chance. I was looking for Pokémon cards, specifically reverse holo cards from the Legendary Collection (also known as firework holos). Unfortunately, nothing has improved. The store is still cluttered and disorganized, which I initially attributed to their move, but it seems to be their norm.
My main issue this time is the overpricing. My boyfriend and I were eventually shown a Golem card from 2002 after a lengthy search. Despite its noticeable flaws—a stain on both sides, a misprint line, and wear and tear—the store quoted it at $75 in near-mint condition. The lowest offer was $45, which my boyfriend felt too uncomfortable to negotiate, so we paid $50 and left with the Golem and two common cards worth $0.50 each.
After researching the card’s value, I found it’s worth about $15-$20 due to its condition, which includes an original PSA 4 grade for the misprint line only to br brought down to a PSA 1.5 grade for the staining. This means I was grossly overcharged, just like in my first experience. In total, I've lost at least $65 across both visits.
In conclusion, while M&T Video Games may be decent for Funko, baseball, or wrestling memorabilia, I strongly advise doing thorough research before purchasing anything, especially Pokémon cards. My experiences have been...
