Lucia’s Boutique — Attraction in Spokane

So we were a little worried going in because of the bad reviews. I was expecting the worst. My husband and I took our daughter in to get a homecoming dress and it went very well!! She did specifically ask in the beginning if we were just looking or planning to buy something. We told her we needed a homecoming dress and she again asked if we were planning on buying it. My husband said he would like her to try it on first and if it fit good, we would probably buy it. She was very helpful in asking my daughter what colors she liked and picked out a very pretty dress for her. The lady did ask that she not zip up and that she would do it for her. She then showed me how to zip it up so it didn't get stuck or break. My daughter tried it on and it looked nice but my daughter wasn't quite sure that was what she wanted. We were nervous to ask but we wanted to try another one. The lady said ok and picked out another dress which was perfect and my daughter absolutely loved it!! This is her first homecoming and she is so excited! We had tried on dresses at some other places and my daughter was getting worried that we weren't going to be able to find something she liked. My daughter now wants to go back there for any other dresses she may need :) She did not charge us any fee to try it on. They were spendy but very nice dresses. The one we got is also something she can wear more than once. I can understand she does not want people going in there just to try on dresses for fun and sometimes they are tricky to zip or tie up and I could see how they might easily get ruined . Or seams rip if not put on properly. She said she would alter it for free, gave us a discount off the original price and steamed it. So I think she does put in extra effort and does not want to waste time on something someone is not even considering buying. I believe she owns the store/product so this is her livelihood and is trying to keep the dresses nice for everyone and so she can sell them. It does not excuse her from being rude or yelling at people. If you go in and are respectful and respectful of her rules and property, I think she is just fine. I will say, I think having my husband there did make a difference. She could tell he was serious about buying a dress and we weren't going to waste her time. I was worried what would happen if we needed to try on multiple dresses but we got lucky I guess and she picked out a perfect one for us :) I guess if anyone reads this review and tries to take a chance on Lucia's, just keep in mind she is a bit strict but if you are respectful and show her you're serious about wanting to buy a dress I think it will work out ok :)

P.S. Little side note -My husband took it as a challenge, expecting her to be rude and was ready to tell her off if she was and it would have...

This store has some good dresses but however the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I was visiting Spokane with a friend and her Mom and we decided to visit this boutique as we have a winter formal and prom coming up, in our town we do not have much for dress shopping so we were super excited to be able to go and shop for them. Immediately upon entering the store the woman there asked us multiple questions such as if we would actually be purchasing dresses and asking exactly what dress we wanted. I wanting to find a dress decided that I would humor it, I listed that I would like a dark red satin or silk dress with a tight fit at the top and flowy at the hips and below. She would not let me look at all for myself and had all the dresses gated off so we could not even think about going forward and looking for ourselves without her assistance. She showed me numerous dresses that were not at all what I described to want and wouldn’t let me see ones I thought I might’ve been interested in. Eventually she asked my budget and I said $150 and she closed off the dresses to me and said I would need to look elsewhere and refused to speak to me at all or even look at me. She then approached my friend and her Mom and started asking what they wanted she often spoke over my friend and eventually they showed interest in a dress and wanted to try it on. She seemed extremely hesitant to allow for a try on, she started asking if they were absolutely sure they would buy that dress, my friends Mom said that was a lot of pressure. The woman then proceeded to tell her she also needed to put down a non-refundable deposit of at least $50 to try the dress on. Her Mom repeated that was a lot of pressure and the woman started to get mad and start saying things like that “It’s a lot of pressure for me too” to simply let us try on a dress and that we are “Paying for my time.” She then proceeded to tell us to go somewhere else since we did not think her wishes...

If I could give no stars I Would! My daughter bought a $300.00 dollar dress from this store. The older lady took it apon herself to alter the dress without us having the actual shoes first. She told my daughter to stand on her tippy toes and that's how she decided how much it needed altered. We picked it up yesterday, tried it on with the shoes and it's still too long. We called on the phone and the lady told us to bring in the dress and they would fix it so we did. When we got there is was the older lady and the guy. They wanted her to try it on with the shoes which we did not bring nor were asked to. The lady starts screaming at my daughter telling her if she don't have her shoes Shes not doing it. My daughter put her dress in her bag and said ok I'm sorry. This lady contiunes to yell at my daughter and now is following us through the store. My daughter exits the store and i told the lady she has no right to speak to a child like that let alone anyone! You are a professional and run a business and are totally out of line. The lady then comes at me like She's going to hit me. I told her you don't wanna do that and i walked out.... As I'm exiting she comes out of the store and tells me to get the f* out and not come back or she will beat my a... I went straight to my car and contacted crime check. As I'm on the phone the guy from the store had followed me to my car and was telling me I'm making a mistake and i will regret it if we don't have them fix the dress..... I filed a police report for the threat and my geniune concern for people who may make the mistake of going here in the future! I also have contacted the mall and will be taking this as far as i can! This kind of behavior is NOT acceptable and will NOT be tolerated by this mom! After reading the reviews i see she has a history of being aggressive...
