Edited review: ThinkTank refunded our tickets, which we appreciated. I've also removed unintentional room spoilers. While I appreciate the manager making things right, the attitude and actions of the two game masters were frustrating. I don’t know if I’d return to the downtown ThinkTank location because I would not want to have them as game masters again.
Original review (no spoilers): I’ll be going to Escape Spokane instead next time. Our escape room experience felt like a rip-off—frustrating, disappointing, and not worth the price. Even with the heightened immersion of the Space Room, Escape Spokane is the better option.
I booked the space room for my birthday and had been looking forward to it, but it fell far short of expectations. A group member who had done the room before confirmed that several elements were missing—one of which was removed by the game master without our knowledge (later confirmed in a call with the manager). We suspect this was due to a conversation in the lobby before our game.
One of our group members was new to escape rooms and feeling nervous. I reassured them they could leave if needed, but the game master overheard and insisted early exit wasn’t allowed due to immersion. I understood leaving would mean missing the rest of the game, but I pointed out that legally, people can’t be prevented from leaving. She eventually admitted they couldn’t physically stop anyone but claimed their policy was that if one person left, the whole group would forfeit. I asked her to stop saying we couldn’t leave, as it was making our group member more anxious. Instead of being understanding, she acted like I was being confrontational, and both game masters were short and snippy with us after that.
We finished the room extremely fast due to the missing elements. By the time we solved the main puzzle, we had 20 minutes left, and even after the final immersive element, we still had over 15 minutes on the clock. For one of their harder rooms, it felt way too easy and disappointing.
It seemed like the game master may have adjusted the room to the easiest setting—whether they thought they were being accommodating or it was retaliation for our earlier exchange, I don’t know. Either way, we didn’t ask for adjustments, and it made the experience feel like a...
Read moreWent as a couples' date with some friends of ours a few weeks ago and we had SO much fun! We've done most of the other activities in Spokane and I'd been nagging them to go to Think Tank for a while but honestly, none of them were all that interested but that changed almost immediately and when the buzzer sounded, we immediately got into character to unarm our nuke (They have others but ours involved us saving the world from a nuclear bomb- you're welcome!).
My unenthusiastic friends and husband had the time of their lives and we all couldn't believe how fast the time went. It was fun, it made us cooperate, it made us shut up and think. So fun. I also meant to compliment the guy at the desk who helped us get ready. I don't remember his name and that's terrible because he was so fun and cool. Thank you guys for a wonderful time. We'll be back and I recommend everyone come in at least once. Like I said, left to their own devices, the 3 of them would've never known how much they now love Think Tank...
Read moreLoved this escape room experience! Me and 3 friends did the Mayan Doomsday room, and we actually escaped! The room was awesome--just challenging enough that it kept us on our toes, but not impossible. You can choose the challenge level from 1-3, which I thought was nice. With the other escape rooms I've done, there was a set level of difficulty and they just seemed too difficult for most people. This one had a nice feature that you're given a tablet to carry around with you, and you just push a button if you want a hint. Sometimes they'd just give us a hint even unsolicited, if they saw us struggling, which I thought was helpful. They weren't too strict about the number of hints they could give us. The room was amazing with great attention to detail and fun, interesting puzzles to solve. Employees were friendly, and check-in was smooth and easy. The downtown location is convenient, also. We all had a great time, and I can't...
