I really really really REALLY love Funfinity. I have been going to this store for years. HOWEVER......there is only one reason I hesitate to give it five stars. Let me tell you the good: -Birthday buckets are THE BEST!! My kids get SO EXCITED to fill up a birthday bucket. Every year. All five kids. Win for me, the kids, and any gift-giving family and friends. -We love the $5 toy the kids get to pick out when we fill their birthday buckets -MOST of the employees are VERY very kind. There is one gal I especially like who is super cute. Maybe in her 20's. Sandy blonde shortish hair. Can't recall her name but she is a sweetheart. -Good selection of toys. It's always changing. It's hard to know what to carry with so many toys out there. But there is a fun variety. I have had good luck in the past returning items that seemed defective. -It's a fun store to be in. So much to look at! Good selection of games, and even candy/cake-making items.
Now for the bad. And there is ONLY one bad. -There is one particular older lady who works there who has ALWAYS come across as RUDE. I'm sorry. But over the last several months, I've encountered her maybe 4-5 times and EVERY TIME I have seen her, she has said something or acted impolitely. When we didn't have our $5 gift card in the mail yet for a birthday bucket, she told us she mailed them yesterday and that we should come back next week - even though I had my three littlest kids there and we made a special trip to fill the birthday bucket. Other employees have helped me out in the past when I haven't received a card, but she was very strict about it. I've also seen her talk to employees loudly and rudely when a customer was standing waiting for some help. But this lady was taking up the employees time instead of letting the employee talk to the customer. She yells from the back and talks loudly. The straw that broke the camel's back, though, was when my friend's 9-year-old daughter asked if they had a certain game in stock. The lady said something along the lines of, "Well that's a silly game. Why would we carry THAT???!" Really? To a kid? The poor kid felt so embarrassed. I'm appalled at this employee. I go to Funfinity probably once a month and I always hope that she is NOT at the store when I go.
Otherwise - great store. Keep up the...
Read moreSo before I had given this place a 5 star review because they deserved it...until today. I went into the shop knowing what I needed to purchase. I found a bucket of fondant on their shelf marked at $14.99 so I picked it up to buy it. I take it to the register and what do you know it rings up at $20.99...So I asked the kid to sell it to me for the price marked. He said he couldn't adjust the price so I asked him to ask him manager to do it. he took it to the back and asked...WHILE IN THE BACK I HEAR HER SAY SHE WONT SELL IT AT THAT PRICE BECAUSE IT WAS MIS-MARKED ON THE SHELF. So she says she will sell it to me at $19.99 instead of the $14.99 it was marked. She also CHANGED THE PRICE WHILE SHE WAS TALKING TO HER EMPLOYEE. Now, I get this is $5 but its the principle behind it...it was marked a certain price ONE THE SHELF it needed to be sold AT THAT PRICE. I was also told that it was the ivory fondant that was the $14.99 and the stuff I was buying was white. REGARDLESS, it was marked a certain price and sold at a higher price which last I checked in the state of Utah, THAT is not legal. I will just take the drive all the way into SLC to get the stuff I need...
Read moreI don't recommend shopping here. The toys are overpriced and of poor-quality. I bought two walkie-talkies here on Saturday, Sept 15, 2018, for my daughter. Within 3 hours they had stopped working, despite only mild usage. I tried to return them to the store, but they refused to refund my money.
I had only shopped here to begin with (as I said, the toys are so overpriced!) because a child had been "registered" here for his birthday party. This is a gimmick Funfinity uses no doubt to increase sales, giving info cards to include in party invitations that pressure the parents of party-goers to shop at Funfinity. How about this for a sales gimmick, Funfinity? Restore shoppers' trust with good old-fashioned get-your-money-back for a crappy product? Needless to say, no gimmicks will convince me to...
