Went to return some hardware from a house that my small business was doing some remodeling on. I've returned here on a monthly basis for about 9 months up until last week when I took some leftover hardware back for store credit to swap out for new hardware for another job. Called ahead the night before. Spoke to Bree & was told no problem, bring it in & we'll take care of you. The next morning when I took the hardware back I was left waiting at the front of the store for someone to help bring in a couple small boxes containing the hardware for 10-15 minutes. The kid who came up was helpful & courteous. Once back inside, all the employees acted like they had no idea how to do a return for store credit. Was left waiting another 10-15 minutes for a manager who I've never seen or dealt with at this store. He didn't ask me anything or even hear what I had to say, instead he loudly proclaimed that they did not accept returns on my items since they were usually stolen from job sites & brought in to return for cash. I'm not sure how much free time Brian has on his hands but I don't have that kind of free time. The items did come from a job site, my own. I co-own a small business that flips houses & remodels on a frequent basis. But I was treated as a thief & "manager Brian" grabbed my boxes from the counter & threw them into my cart, destroying the boxes & bending/denting several pieces of hardware. He then took one box out of the store to return to my truck without even knowing where my vehicle was. Once there he threw the boxes again over the tailgate into the bed of my truck which further damaged the items along with my bed liner. I guess he was in too much of a hurry to put it down or wait for me to get around my vehicle to put it down for him. Perhaps he didn't know how that was done. Then as he was removing another box from my cart he let the cart roll over the edge of the sidewalk in front of my vehicle where it tipped & fell into the front fender of my truck, scratching & denting my vehicle & sending my hardware all over the parking space next to mine as well as under my truck. He then continued to throw these items into my backseat. As I went to double check underneath to make sure he'd gotten everything, he rudely said "yeah, I got those" as he made a hasty retreat back inside the store. Needless to say, I won't be giving Sunroc my business ever again. This was where I'd purchased all the hardware & building materials for every job my business was involved with for nearly the last year. In that time, neither myself or my business partner have ever been treated this way until encountering this joke of a "manager" who cost me several hundred dollars in repairs to my work vehicle, time in finding another company to give my business to, as well as the cost of all the hardware he destroyed in the process of returning it to my vehicle. I've contacted corporate to file a complaint as well as seeking compensation for all the damage Brian caused to my hardware & my vehicle. But since this happened I've given my business to Builders First Source in Spanish Fork who has been extraordinarily helpful & even cheaper costs for the building materials I purchase on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. I'd suggest giving them or anyone else your business before going to another overpriced...
Read moreI tried exchanging a new never used drill bit on 6/19 and was told that I could not return since the package was torn open. I purchased the 1" drill bit 3 hours prior but needed to buy a 7/8" drill bit to fit inside the valve I was hot tapping. I called the location prior to returning to the store and was told that it shouldn't be a problem. I reviewed their return policy listed on my receipt and when I returned, looked to see if there was a return policy displayed at the POS (nothing posted). I followed their return policy as listed, but I was refused service from two girls at the counter when I tried to exchange the item. I was told that I could return it if the packaging could just be tapped and resold, but since the opened packaging was torn, they can't return it. No manager was on duty so they got Brady in the paint department. I was told the same thing so I asked to see where it says that on their return policy or even says that the package needs to be in a like new condition. This is no where on their policy that states this. Sunpro leaves it up to the employee to judge the customer and discriminate based on their opinion on how "opened" the package is whether they will return it or not. It's ridiculous that you can return an open package as long as the package is not too damaged. This leaves a lot of gray area and puts their employees and Sunpro at risk. I could go into other options that I offered, like me purchasing the 7/8" drill bit with the same packaging and swapping out the product and description SKU so it could be resold. I explained that when I was there earlier, the girl opened up another drill bit in front of me to see if it was threaded and then put it back on the shelve. I told them I would leave the other opened bit and take the new one with out paying and the manager could call me when they were in next. I offered to give them my DL information. I was refused service over and over and then Brady said, let me call and see what they think. He opened his phone, waited and then said he could do it this one time. When I told the girl at the counted to process it, she refused to process it and said she didn't want her name on it. Then the next girl refused to process it because she didn't want her name on it either. Brady had everyone sign out and then processed the exchange. What kind of hostile environment are these employees in where they live in fear of retaliation from Sunpro if they follow the listed return policy and are giving the direction of Brady in the paint department who they differed to when the situation escalated. I'm not sure I would want anyone I cared for working at Sunpro. I could not find a posted return policy on their website but search around for online purchases and found an exceptions for online purchase. I'll upload my receipt, opened packaged photo, and image of the location with no posted...
Read moreI've been in this store about a dozen times. I don't know the store and have difficulty finding the things I need. Until last week I've always walked out of there without anyone assisting me and not purchasing anything because I can't find it. Last week o was pressed for time so I ran over to get 1 blade for my edger. The girl at the counter was very nice. She asked another employee for help with payment since I was using a tax exempt purchase card. Got the help walked out with my purchase. Yesterday same thing. Didn't have enough time to make it to Home Depot so ran to Sunroc to get the 3 small things I needed. Same girl couldn't remember how to do tax exempt (that's ok she's still learning) and met wonderful manager Brian. Brian said they didn't do tax exempt. I explained I work with the district and its tax exempt. He then went to put the information into the computer and asked my name and that's where the fun began. I was not on his "list" of people that can use a purchase card. He then got loud told me I wasnt authorized to use my card and began asking me where I worked, where I got the card and demanded a P.O. from me and so on. I had the whole store watching me. I explained to him I'm a district employee (as clearly stated on my shirt WITH my name) which building I work in and where I got the card as well as how they work. He exclaimed several times over he shouldn't be allowing me to purchase but did so anyway because at that point he knew he messed up and was out of line. I will go back just one more time to lodge a formal complaint. He made me look like a thief in front of everyone in the store and even in the middle of "helping" me disregarded me to help someone else before continuing his rant. I'll never spend another dime in that store and if I could I would reccomend the district pull their account out of...
