I booked Moolah Lanes for a party on November 20. I called twice to confirm the party and guarantee the guest count. Each time, I was told everything was all set.
When I arrived on the day of the event, the doors were locked the lights were out and nobody was there to let me in. I stood outside with the caterer (holding $300 worth of food) and my 25 guests started to show up.
I called the Moolah Lanes phone number only to get a voice mail message. I left a message to get an explanation of the situation.
I have called every day since and have yet to receive an apology or reason the location was closed when I had a confirmed party. I wasted a lot of food and turned away a lot of friends for my party.
DON'T BOOK MOOLAH LANES!!! They are unprofessional and are completely unconcerned with lying to customers. I got ripped off; don't be their next victim.
Best cocktails in St. Louis.
I know, I know, not what you were expecting, but it's true. And I've been to just about every single place worth going in St. Louis over the past two years and I have yet to have better drinks. Apparently they're a passion, and I like their style: personal takes on classic drinks.
Had a white Russian with black walnut bitters (excellent) and a daquiri with dark pineapple rum (also excellent). They also infuse bourbons for other drinks. Was it Manhattans? Old Fashioneds? I forget. A couple of guys I spoke with said the burgers are great off of their flat top grill. Think my bartender's name was Jim (my receipt says that, at least), but he seems like he does more than that - think he designs all their cocktails.
In either case, great guy and great crowd - and pretty relaxed - solid Thursday night. Cardinals game was on all TVs if you're looking to catch the game. Lanes were modern and really clean. There's a movie theater upstairs if you want a chill date night. If I'm going to grab a drink in downtown St. Louis, it's here or Tiny Bar from now on.
Also, they let you use the 9-pound "Glow" bowling balls as an adult 💞 (I was rolling them...

Minors welcome until 7pm with Adult...
