I love Keith's appliances and have used them for years. However, this last experience with my 14 month old Maytag microwave was not what I expected. I have always bought Maytag or Jenn Air products due to the durability and long life. I am 63 years old and the microwave I bought during COVID lasted 14 months. Now I know that I should have added an extended warranty but maybe Maytag should have asked me before my 1 year warranty ran out? Do you think that could have been done ? I do. My microwave was a registered product. I went on line to the Maytag website and looked at the reviews of this appliance and was shocked to see how many people have been dissatisfied with this particular microwave. Saw the same comment over and over crashed, stopped working, lasted 6 months. What is going on with Maytag? Was I wrong to expect 11 years of non maintenance that I had with the last one I had before spending over $600 for a Over the Range Microwave in my new Kitchen? We had 14 months from delivery which was not what I expected with this microwave. I also hoped that Keith's appliances would have done more. 1. I am a long time appliance purchaser at Keith's. 2. I have always gone to Keith's before anyone else even the big box stores. I still have 20 + year old Maytag washer and dryer in my basement I always stick to what is expected to be Top End. My appliance (except for my Refrigerator) was bought at Keith's 11 years ago all Jenn Air and still working as expected with no service calls. I will say I would have replaced my refrigerator but it was in the kitchen when we remodeled and even though a GE appliance I decided to keep it until it broke. Well again 20 years still going strong. What do I do change brands? Well enough ranting Keith's gave me a small discount but I had to spend $664.68 for a new Maytag microwave since it was not cost effective to spend $180 on a service call to be told "it cannot be fixed, and sorry it is not under warranty." and have to spend the money anyway. I saved myself $180 for forgoing the service call and just replacing the appliance.
The USA has lost its integrity in cheaper made "throw it away " (made in China imported) appliances because no one wants to work. That is the bottom line here. No more "Proud to Be Built in America!" No more 10 year warranties, 5 year warranties, we are now at 1 year limited warranties and if you don't spend over $100 a year on an extended warranty don't expect it to last my friends. I cannot believe the change since I was a little girl. My mom always told me" do not buy cheap stuff, pay more and it will last" well these times are gone because of corporate greed and the USA has lost it's touch with quality. Our children would rather steal, rob, sell drugs, and shoot each other so they do not have to work . Why not the government will send the check, give free housing, food, phone, etc. Why should I work? Comments are welcome but don't expect a reply I am working for a living. I am not hitting the elderly lady and knocking her down to...
Read moreKeith’s is the worst company we have ever down business with. We ordered our appliances last May 2021. We still haven’t received our stove, that we were told we would have in 8 weeks when we first ordered. They also never updated us. We had to keep calling and keep calling. Over a year in and they basically told us our options are to just keep waiting, to cancel our order or get a gas range which we don’t have gas available and would cost us almost 7000 to transfer over the home. We originally had gotten a quote from another local appliance place- they told us they could be the time line and the cost. Friends of ours who ordered their appliances from the other vendor had their appliances in December. They continually lie, find excuses to tell you why they don’t have your items but also how now one else can have your items either. We bought very specific appliances and are now stuck. Before we got far in to the debacle we sadly also recommended Keith’s after they gave us all these promises to friends who had ripped out their kitchen. They bought incredibly high end appliances - about 30,000. They went with these even thought they were exorbitant because they were told “ These were in stock” they are now at the 8 month mark and we’re told their only option was one that was 1600 more than they had already paid. They were also told at the end after all they went through.. that they weren’t eligible for the military discount that was originally discussed. After spending 30,000 and waiting over 8 months for their item that they were told was available Keith’s wouldn’t even meet them in the middle of the upcharge of their already expensive units. Don’t shop here.. customer service is lacking, they lie about product availability and when it comes time to make it right.. they don’t.. - stoveless for...
Read moreSo, I recently brought a new washer and dryer from here because of a suggestion made by friends who have been dealing with this company for years. The original delivery date was changed by them, which was disappointing. On the next date, they scheduled to deliver my items they did come! They were beautiful. When I finally had a day off and finished remodeling the laundry room, I decided to wash a load of clothes. We'll, after the wash cycle was over, I put the clothes in the dryer and to my surprise I couldn't get the door to close!! I immediately called the store. They said they would come out the next day. So all night, I tried to get the door to close. I ended up taking off a piece of the lock to see if it would close. It didn't, so I just left it alone. The next day, when the service men came, I let them know right away what I did did not cause the door to not close. I laughed, and Chris looked very serious and said, "What did you do?"🤪 Long story short, what I did did not cause the door not to close. When they worked on it and the door did close, I kept asking Chris. What was the reason 😀 he kept saying "it's fixed" I wanted to know the reason, and finally, Dan said the lock was in the wrong place by the manufacturer. 🤣 then Chris agreed, we all laughed!!! What a good service call. I will be requesting those two in the future if I have any problems. By the way, my new Maytag washer and dryer works very well. I remember this company from back in the day, and they are still around. You should check them out if you're planning on buying a new appliance. Tell them I sent you!! ☺️ ... 3/18/25 5:10p Thanks for your response, owner. I usually don't give a 5 rating. If I did, I feel like those businesses would have nothing to...
