The place is so welcoming, as well as Marcus, the owner. My first time going I found 3 cards I like because they have a cool design. I went up and asked how much they would cost and he said they were free and he just gave them to me. Later, I found a Naruto Funko Pop I wanted. He said it would cost $13 dollars. I jokingly said the box has a damaged lid and he said I could have it for $10. Such a sweet guy, very interactive with his customers. He runs the shop mainly by himself, when I asked, he said there were only two people that help him out. Some people don't like the clutter, but I don't mind. Honestly, having the place feel less professional makes it feel more cozy and at home. I personally don't visit often, I'm not really into Magic or any of the main things there. My brothers are, however, nerds and frequent the place and they say how they get nothing but good service. You can even haggle the price with him, which obviously is what I did. It's a breath of fresh air because he seems happy at his job. It's a small business and Marcus is the man at the counter, which he's the owner. So it's not some lame teen who hates his nine-to-five. It's a man who genuinely invested in the business and is glad to see people come by. Also, I'm pretty sure you can play magic in the back for free, and I think they run tournaments and stuff back there to....
Read moreI've been shopping at Ground Zero for long time and have always enjoyed the atmosphere and friendliness of the owner and the other customers. The owner knows the types of books I enjoy and can always recommend something if I am looking for something new to read. To date I have enjoyed all the recommendations. The comic selection is great for the casual reader and avid collector alike. If they do not have what you are looking for on hand they will try to find it for you.
There are magic tournaments every Friday and Saturday night and the prize is a full box, not just a few packs like some other places. Most of the Magic players are more than willing to help new or inexperienced players out. I feel like I am just hanging out with friends having a great time.
Ground Zero also has a great selection of board games ranging from 2 player games that take 10 minutes to multiplayer games that take hours. Whatever you are in the mood for you are sure to find something you will enjoy. There is also a great selection of other collectibles available such as a wonderful selection of Pint Glasses with almost any character you would want on it, some great Hot Toys and Side Show Collectable pieces, a huge selection of stickers and lots of other collectable...
