If you are considering joing Retro Stroudsburg, take a moment and read this entire post, it is worth your time.
Absolutely the Best Retro Fitness on the East Coast, and one of the best Gym's I have ever trained at. I've held a Retro Membership for 8 years, parallel to my LifeTime Fitness/ Athletic Membersip, homeclub Florham Park NJ.
I have held my LifeTime Membership for just over a decade, LifeTime's top level membership, the one that provides you access to their coveted Manhatten Facility 'Sky'. My Retro Home Club is Eric Casaburi's first Retro location, Manahawkin NJ. Great Old School feel, but nothing compared to the Retro Evolution I experienced at Retro Stroudsburg.
I have been a gym rat since 1985, started in my mom's basement with my older brothers bench, purchased a Ferrigno Olympic bench from The Want-Ad Press, and more equipment from Wonder Barbell & Health in Bloomfield. I trained there until I outgrew the basement.
I always held multiple gym memberships at one time for convenience. I trained at John Kemper's Diamond in Maplewood for 15 years, John Kemper was one of the sports most knowledgable ambassadors in every way. John Kemper trained like Tom Platz, unless you embraced the session, you would never make it through. . .especially legs.
I held memberships at Golds Gym Kennilworth NJ, Golds Gym Hoboken NJ, POWERHOUSE Gym Bloomfield NJ, Olympus Gym Bloomfield NJ, and countless other gyms in New York, New Jersey, Florida, and even in France at Iron Gym.
Your Stroudsburg facility reminds me of Colosseum Gym in Newark NJ. The last Gym I belonged to before joining LifeTime. I left Colosseum when an ownersip change occured.
I have joined several other Gyms in NY and NJ over the past decade, and I was never able to cancel my LifeTimeMembership because no one could match their Cardio Equipment, Free Weights, and Machines.
Retro Stroudsburg does that in spades. After just 2 weeks of training at your facility, I moved to my Pocono Home.
LifeTime comes at Premium, $240 per month. . .and I only used LifeTimes Cardio Equipment, Free Weights, and Machines. That's quite the rensom to pay for Gym basics.
Your staff at Retro Stroudsburg is amazing. I have never trained in a cleaner, more organized facility. Everyting is where it should be when I walk in at 4:30am everyday. LifeTime, charging $240 per month for a single membersip, could take valuable lessons from Retro Stroudsburg charging $25 per month.
While I believe everyone I see at Retro Stroudsburd appreciates this facility, and staff, I do not believe they understand the level you operate Retro Stroudsburg at. Retro Stroudsburg operates at a level well above anything LifeTime Athletic/ Fitness will ever achieve, EVER ACHIEVE.
I think someone should let Eric Casaburi know just how amazing Retro Stroudsburg is, what his franchise has Evolved into at Retro Stroudsburg. . .and if Eric wants a reference as to who I am, he can ask Josh Kline, his childhood friend, and equally successful business man, what Josh's thoghts are on Mario Piccinini.
If you are looking for an unbelievable Gym to join, at a rate that makes absolutely no sense because they should be charging triple their current monthly rate, stop in at Retro Stroudsburg, and I guarantee you join on the spot.
Thank you Retro Stroudsburg for such an amazing Gym experience, and the opportunity to share my 40 years of Gym membership experience with everyone that takes the time to read this post.
If anyone doesnt believe my post, PLEASE call me 973.768.1299 and we can meet at Retro Stroudsburg, and I will personally walk you through why Retro Stroudsburg is the Gym to...
Read moreThis gym is excellent in appearance and functionality, but management and the owner (kevin) are absolutely rude. Customer service is about helping your members feel comfortable with a service they are paying for. I asked the owner if I could talk to him about something. His response was "why". Almost as if he did not want to be bothered. Once I asked him if he knew there was nudity being played on a big screen TV right as you walk in (not that it bothered me, but most establishments today do not have this as their welcoming card). I felt it was the right thing to mention it to him in case it was being played by accident.
He continued to say oh well have you seen what they play in Europe. Again I reiterated to him that it does not offend me, I just wasn't sure if he was aware it was being played right in the front lobby as people walk in. The owner replied, by asking me are you a Born again Christian. If your offended bring it up to the front desk. I guess the owner has no say on what plays on the TV, or he just does not care about having a polite conversation with anyone. Completely arrogant.
I know in the future not to bring up any possible issues as he does not care. Like I mentioned above I was just simply bringing it to his attention in case he was unaware. I was not offended by the content. Just didn't want others who may find it offensive to come...
Read moreThe RetroFitness facility in Stroudsburg is well-equipped, well-maintained and well-managed. But I would like to register a complaint. Every so often, I will come upon an exercise machine that has someone's personal item sitting on the machine or next to it, or hanging on it, but there's no one in the immediate vicinity of the machine. I assume someone forgot to take the item with them when they finished using the machine. So I will put the item aside and begin using the machine. A minute later, a person will come up to me and say that they were still using the machine and had intentionally left the item behind to "reserve" the machine in their absence. I don't think this should be allowed. No one should be able to monopolize a machine by placing a personal item on the machine to "reserve" it for themselves and then walk away to do something else. Once a person walks away from a machine, for whatever reason, it should be considered open for use by another person. I looked at the rules of the gym posted near the entrance of the facility, and there is no rule forbidding this practice. I suggest that the following rule be added to the rules list: "Do not place personal items on or near an exercise machine to reserve it in your absence. Move your feet, lose your seat." Thank you for making the Stroudsburg RetroFitness facility a great place to work out and...
