PetSmart — Attraction in Stuart

I have used the grooming service for 3 years now and was very satisfied until today. When I dropped off my Schnauzer I gave specific instructions (as always) on how I’d like him cut. I usually takes 3 hours for his cut, but today it was 5 1/2 hours. First, when I went to pick up my dog I was told I had to wait because the only groomer there at the time could not put the Pug in a Kennel due to anxiety. So, I had to wait until the other groomer returned from her lunch break to get my dog. Secondly, when I received my dog I noticed they failed to shave the top of his head, ears and the side of his face. So, I asked if they could fix the areas they missed. I was asked to leave out the grooming area in order for them to fix his cut. When I returned 15 minutes later, they only did the top of his head and ears (hair still was sticking up on his ears) and not the side of his face as asked. When I mentioned they skipped his face the groomer stated he was hard to keep calm so they couldn’t complete it. She then stated the instructions left in the system for him was incomplete and she thought his cut was per my instructions earlier. She then showed me a book with example pictures of Schnauzer cuts. I told her that’s exactly how the previous groomers used to cut my dog face area as in the book. She said sorry and they will do it next time. As I said before, I’ve never had any issues with previous groomers, but the experience today makes me not want to return. I was told there are several new employees in the grooming department. Please make sure they are experienced in grooming pets because I pay for a wash & cuts plus the $25 upgrade every time I take my dog in PetSmart. Absolutely wonderful experience. Val answered all our questions and let us know if we needed anything that she can radio anyone we need. There was another helpful gentleman who loaded up the tank and stand for us. Ryan and another female employee helped load our huge items into our vehicle. I'm so blessed to have such an amazing PetSmart with kind and knowledgeable employees to help me with all my animal needs. Pricing is perfect. You can compare their prices to Amazon and they are very similar. Our saltwater tank is set up and we are patiently waiting to be able to add fish to it next week. I also want to thank Adan who was the person who inspected our tank at the manufacturing place because the tank was sealed perfectly! I can't wait to lay in my bed and stare at my tank every night for the rest of my life. God has blessed us all greatly. Yes we used a kid Beach shovel to stir the salt into the tank. The hydrometer works perfectly. Do your research; corals and saltwater fish need different salinity parameters. Lots of YouTube videos have all the information you need. Never be afraid to try something new. Also, the sound of our tank is very relaxing. Everything pictured is what we got from PetSmart. We forgot to grab sand, so we haven't been able to set up the amazing dry live rock that we got. What I love about 30lbs of rock is that we can change up the rock structure over our lifetime, if we so desire and we can add a variety of corals over time to keep our fish entertained and happy. I shop this location because it is convenient. It is the closest one to my house. There are certain women that work there. That after over a year ago... And all the money that I've spent there still make me feel uncomfortable. I have over 30 years of animal husbandry. I appreciate their concern for the animals however I don't need anyone question how I care for my animals. They are absolutely my priority. I will always go without for myself before I will let my animals have second best. They are like my children. I also worked and the pet industry for over 12 years of my life. I normally would never support and establishment that makes me feel uncomfortable when I shop there. However with their appearance ignorance on copper animal Care I have to wonder if I am saving lives by shopping there.. for example I'm more than one occasion I have noticed and called out that some of the hamsters have wet tail which can be deadly. Crazy example they have refused to tell me hamsters based on nothing but discrimination.. I have been raising hamsters for over 40 years.. and I have even successfully raised some that were abandoned by their mother as early as 10 days.. I would like to know how many people at work is PetSmart and claim that they are capable of doing the same.
