Daiso - Japanese Household Goods — Attraction in Sunset Valley

We enjoyed the visit to this new store. It is spotless and well-organized, with friendly staff. There is a very good variety of items, but we were disappointed to discover that most (non-food) items were made in China and that similar items made in Japan had fewer count in a package, or were lesser quality. All items start at $1.75, down to a packet of 2 small hair ties, so that means some things are just way overpriced. You have to consult a chart to discover the prices because there are no dollar currency price labels, and it gets tedious. One small sack of stocking stuffers cost us $45. This store is fun to try for unique snacks and Japanese goods you can't buy elsewhere, but it isn't the best bargain for...

Daiso has a cute assortment of Japanese merchandise, characters, snacks, toys and home goods. Everything is very low priced and with that being said, you are paying for that quality. There are a lot of items that would make for good stocking stuffers or goodie bags for kids. There are also a lot of familiar characters from Disney, Hello Kitty and more. The day I found out that Daiso was opening up a store in Sunset Valley felt like the first day of the rest of my life.

I want everything. I want to live in this store. Daiso is my happy place.

Beware if you have never gone, and be warned for 2 reasons:

You WILL likely spend a lot of money. Plan, budget and save accordingly.
