I came to this location last night within an hour before closing time prepared to spend over $700 on a new phone. I know the phone I wanted and didn't need any help or questions answered. I arrived at 815pm on a day they close at 9pm. All employees were helping other customers, so I waited. When I entered, there was nobody there greeting to check people in like I'm used to, but it was my first time at this location so I figured they might not do that here. Ten minutes after shopping around while waiting, a male employee approaches me to check me in on his tablet. He assured me a rep with be with me shortly.
I was being patient and shopping, and began to grow impatient but was excited for a new phone. As it approached within ten minutes of closing time I considered leaving because I know what it's like to work a service job like that and deal with late customers. But I had been there for 40+ minutes already and I wanted that phone!
At exactly 859pm a female employee runs up to me and asks what I need help with (as if I didn't check in with the tablet guy already). I say I want to buy that phone and need to know my options as far as payment options, etc. She asks if I want to transfer service (from my old phone to the one I'm about to buy) and I said yes. She said "Oh we can't do transfers after 830pm". I immediately glossed over in frustration and cut her off with a "Wow, thank you" and walked away. I was maybe a little rude in that regard but I clearly wasn't being treated well. It would have been futile to stay and argue about how I had been there since well before 830. She responded with "OK, cool!" and walked to the back of the store as I left. She never said sorry or even acknowledged the fact that I had been waiting so long.
AND NOW that I'm thinking about it, she could have sold me the phone and I could have transferred the service myself over the phone! Or even just swapped the sim card?? There will be a call to the manager and to verizon support in the morning. And maybe to...
Read moreGenerally I abstain from negative reviews and only write positive reviews of places where I've had positive experiences. There is enough negativity in the world already. But this store in particular wasted a lot of my time and that is my biggest pet peeve.
Granted these people work with frustrated (myself included) and at times difficult customers, so I'll give them that. They were polite.
But back to the time-wasting. I was shopping in the area a few weeks ago and I stopped by on my way home because I thought I might be due for an upgrade. There are two people on my account, and I specifically asked when my upgrade was due. They told me I was due on 7/12/14. I came in on 7/13/14. They pull up the info on their tablet and they say sorry, your upgrade is tomorrow. So they tell me to come back another day. Next day, 7/14/14, I come in to work early so I can take a longer lunch break and get the phone then. I come in at 1 and they tell me there's a 25 minute wait - I say I can't wait that long and I'm here again because of their mistake - and they say I can make an appointment to come back another day.
So that's three strikes. First, they tell me the wrong upgrade date. Then, they tell me to come back and don't mention that I can make an appointment. Third, I come in on a Monday afternoon when the wait shouldn't be so bad, and I have to wait almost a half hour, and they tell me to come back again. I'm going to the store on Lamar even though it's a little out of the way, hopefully the...
Read moreI have been trying to terminate my service with Verizon for 5 months now. They are holding me hostage just so they can take my money from my bank account. They were asked to terminate all my service with them and they are turning off one line per month. I am told I can't do it over the phone because my PIN number is incorrect. I have never change it and it is funny how if you want to pay or add a line the PIN number miraculously works. When I go in they say they cannot do it at the store and when I call they say I need to go to a store. It is hard to believe that the government actually allows these corporation to steal your money from you and there is nothing you can do about it. I am going today to try and stop the service totally so I can avoid another month's charges. I will never again deal with Verizon, ever, for as long as I live. There is nothing they can do to ever win back my trust. They have treated me so unjustly that I would rather go without a phone than deal with them again. And yes, the Brodie store closes 10 minutes early, so if you are trying to barely make it , you can forget about it. The girls there are in bad need of Customer Service Training. The entire company needs to implement a culture involving HONESTY. I wouldn't even give them one star, but I have to or it won't allow me...
