The food was ok. The service was terrible. From the minute we walked in we let our server know we expected extra people in our party to come but they didn't plan to eat. We were sat at a 4 person table and before we could get the host's attention they walked away. So we moved over to the bigger table next to us..... The restaurant was empty aside from us at the time. We were immediately told that the table was for large parties only and ignored when we stated we had more people coming.
We tried to order our food and my kids were asked their ages after the host handed them children's menus. After sorting this out we ordered our meal. While waiting the rest of our party, who has already had breakfast elsewhere. The rest of the table only had waters and no additional food at all.
We ate a mediocre meal and enjoyed the company of our family. When the bill arrived it included a 20% gratuity for a large party. We asked why as half our group was not served (the restaurant was still very slow) and asked for the manager. The manager was polite although the damage was done as the server made us feel very unwelcome.
Our extra party has just left a hospital where their mother had just been taken off life support and were waiting for word of her passing. We are their family and the only reason we stayed at the hotel was to provide comfort for our nieces.
The staff did not know this but left a searing impression in a time of hardship for my family. Hopefully they can treat people better in the future as they never know the circumstances of a...
Read moreI have only had breakfast at Bite, and that is what this review pertains to. The food was excellent and the coffee was great, which is why this review even gets a 3*. I ordered an espresso beverage from the server which was later brought by the barista. The barista brought a drink to me, but it looked too dark so I questioned what she’d brought me. Evidently the server did not express that the order was an americano with additives; the server asked if the drink had arrived and I explained the situation. Both the server and the barista seemed dismissive of their roles in the mix-up. Either way, it was not a deal breaker, but it wasn’t a good look. I made my order with the server and expressed that I would like the check with the food so that I could close out and leave upon completing the meal. She brought the check out, but never came to collect the payment. I finished my meal and went up to the register to complete the transaction and leave. This wouldn’t be an issue, but I was trying to set the stage for me to get out quickly as I was in a rush to get down to a conference. Again, the food was delicious, but I felt that the whole experience with the staff and its customer left a bitter taste...
Read moreWe had a not so pleasant experience, our waitress was very nice and it started off great. We received our drinks and ordered an appetizer. The appetizer was alright, but then we received our entrees, and that is when things began to get grim. I love grilled asparagus, but not when the tips are chared and leaving burnt crumbles on my plate like I cleaned out my BBQ. I ordered the Wild salmon and the only thing wild about it was the odd brownish color. I fish commercially and have never before encountered brown salmon. I took two small bites and pushed my plate away, it tasted like it looked, wrong. My wife ordered the fillet Mignon which resembled a new York, and was very tasteless, the mashed potatoes were just that smashed taters. While we were trying not to make a scene I had Gordon Ramsey in my head begging me to jump up and scream obscenities towards the kitchen, but I refrained. Our server was a sweetheart and felt very bad about it, she even agreed that the salmon did not look right. So unfortunately we were looking forward to trying this restaurant out, and we will not be back. The hotel is nice, service is great, the beer was cold. Kitchen...
