My son celebrated his twelfth birthday at Spaceland today. He and his friends had a great time! I feel like this place is perfect for his age. My daughter who is almost five also had a great time participating in the games, though she didn’t always understand what she was doing. She had fun nonetheless and was bummed when we left!
Facility: The party room was kind of small, but accommodated our group of twelve perfectly. There were four tables in the room and plenty of chairs. Everything was clean. The place does not stand out much from the road and one can easily pull into the church parking lot next door without realizing it. I think a bigger, more obvious sign would probably be helpful so that people can recognize the place easier
Party package: We elected to purchase the super package, which included 2.5 hours in the party room and four games. Full payment is due at the time of booking. The package does not include paper plates, napkins, cups etc. We were allowed to bring in our own food, drinks, and cake. We were also allowed to put up light decorations. The staff were great about letting us enter early to setup the room. We had participants complete the waiver prior to arrival, but the staff did not receive the waivers on their end, so parents ended up filling out physical copies on site, but it was one page and very quick.
Overall impression: Overall, I would definitely recommend this place for a kid’s birthday party. All of our guests enjoyed the games and had a lot of fun. We elected to eat, open gifts, and have cake in between games. There was about 10-15 minutes in between each game. I felt that the 2.5 hours was a perfect amount of time to play your games, eat pizza and cake, and open presents without...
Read moreI will preface this with I did NOT get the lazertag or paintball experience (due to the rooms being booked for the day). No problem, not blaming them for expecting a family fun center experience on my end or not deep diving more. Arrived at noon - fully booked for the day!
In my defense, when I see a 4.9 star google review for a family fun center, I'm under the impression, from EVERY previous experience ANYONE has ever had of a family fun center. I was getting an actual fun center e.g., arcades, food services, and a variety of other novelties creating a mind blowing experience for children and adults alike.
Point being calling SPACELAND a family fun center is a very loose play on those words and borderline criminal false advertising. It is a indoor paintball (age matters) and Lazer tag facility, In a renovated house! Seriously!!!
I'm assuming the 4.9 has to be reviews from their regular clientele in an out who live in the area!
Staff was friendly. Which is why 2 stars not 1.
Apologies for the scathing review. Don't want another family to waste their time, they should know exactly what they're...
Read moreEdit: We waited until 11am (our reservation was at 10:30am) to see if anyone showed up so we could get a refund. A worker showed up at 11 and stated that he was not the opener and something must have happened. We got our refund without question and left. I quickly received an email from Spaceland with an apology stating that they were sorry for the staffing issues, and they offered us complimentary games (2x what we had originally paid for). We were very upset that the day didn't go as planned (we had planned surprise laser tag for our dad for Father's Day), but we were happy with how they handled the problem. We're looking forward to coming back and hopefully having a much better experience.
We made a reservation for laser tag, showed up, the hours on the door stated that they were open but no one was there and no one was answering the phone or door. There is nothing on their website/Facebook/Instagram stating that they are closed down, but it gave all the signs of...
