Canteen by Camp Colvos — Restaurant in Tacoma

Went for lunch during the week and had a great experience. Only hiccup was our food was not made correctly to our request (burgers, minus pickles and special sauce). They tried twice and each time something was not right. This only happened to one person out of my group of three. Lots of seating here too.

Burgers were great and tasted really good. They used sweet pickles instead of dill but this wasn’t bad thing, just didn’t expect it. Bagged chips with the burgers, can’t go wrong. Customer service was great too! Super friendly staff.

We were greeted by the bar staff when we entered. They were friendly and welcoming. We were thankful they happily gave recommendations knowing that we were 1st time guests to the establishment. We took the gentleman's recommendation from the bar and were so happy. The pizza was fresh and had great flavor combinations. The root beer on draft was just as well- I was with my young niece. She ate the pizza up. Who would have though Kim chi on pizza was a great idea- Canteen by Camp Colvos. The outdoor seating on the corner was great. By about 5pm- this place is busy. We will be back to try...

While I love Camp Colvos, the Canteen has drawbacks. During this visit, we were told it would take an hour or more for food once we ordered. Thankfully, I decided against hot food and had the oysters. They were delicious and took less time. I'm not sure if it's a kitchen space issue or a staffing issue, but to wait over an hour for hot food is a bit much, but it was a night market night. If I could add a 0.6, I would. Like I said, I love Camp Colvos to their credit, they were open with the wait times and the food like it's bigger spot...
