I recently stayed at the SpringHill Suites Tampa Westshore for two nights. I greatly enjoyed my stay. I am big fan of Marriotts and this hotel did not disappoint. Upon check-in I was greeted by Ms. Kay. She was welcoming, courteous, and friendly. When staying at hotels I prefer human interaction and not a technology based visit. She started my stay off with a positive note and made me feel welcome. From making sure I had the right room to offering to make a me fresh pot of coffee to my liking. It was a pleasure to meet her.
My room was very nice. It was a large room and much more than I needed. I enjoyed having an office space separate from the sleeping area. My iron and board were in good working condition and I had no issues. My room had two double beds and two large TV's. The linens were of good quality and the bed was very comfortable. I was able to get two good nights of rest while visiting Tampa.
The bathroom was large and adequate with endless piping hot water. I had all the amenities I needed and plenty of fresh towels for my stay. This is a hotel that reduces waste so I had plenty of towels for my visit and they did not have be refreshed.
They have a continental breakfast, but the the breakfast is actually much more than that. There is fresh coffee, pastries, bagels, eggs, sausage, waffles, yogurt, cereal and fresh fruit. I did not have any of the hot food, but after my run I did have yogurt, strawberries and a banana, all of which were fresh and ready to eat.
My room attendants did a great job. My bed was made when I got back and ready for another nights sleep. When leaving my room for the day all staff was friendly and spoke. We can't forgot to acknowledge each other, so if you are a guest at the hotel, please take the time to say hello to everyone.
The location is great! It is a safe area. I was able to get walks and a run in early in the morning. There are sidewalks and shopping close by. Most importantly there is a Starbucks around the corner that I could walk to.
Upon check-out I was greeted by Ms. Ana. She was very friendly, quick and efficient. She asked about my stay and took my email address to send me a receipt as we spoke. Again, I prefer human interaction when visiting a hotel and not leaving without speaking. The hotel staff was very friendly which made for a nice stay. I wish I could have stayed longer.
This was a great hotel that walked the Marriott way of life. I was pleased with my stay and impressed with the hotel. I highly recommend if you are...
Read moreThe staff is awesome, kind, courteous and after a night or two they remember you by name, building needs a little upkeep but what building doesn't? TV selection was better then I was expecting for a hotel, breakfast is good and tasty if you get to it nice and early, if you're a late riser the eggs get a little water logged and lose some flavor but there is cheese/salsa/basil/salt and pepper for that problem, if you have insomnia the overnight staff person is willing to chat as they work and if it starts to interfere with their work they politely excuse themselves to get their work done, house keeping is very friendly and fold the sheets and towels to perfection, the drivers for the shuttle service really know their way around town and are extremely nice and professional, they load your baggage in the back of the van, open and close the doors for you, and if you toss them a bit extra for the trip they get even nicer (like maybe take you places off the beaten path they're supposed to stay on nicer), considering I flew to Tampa and stayed at this hotel to go to Laser Spine Institute for neck surgery the drivers were even more careful with me getting in and out and always helped me get to where I needed to go including a Walgreens to use the pharmacy!
All in all it's a good place to stay, with a few moderate building issues that are wear and tear items i.e. toilet flapper leaks and makes noise for a bit after you flushed it, shower drips constantly making noise but if you're not a light sleeper or have insomnia you won't notice it unless you're in the little bathroom space), and ESPECIALLY for the SERVICE THE STAFF PROVIDES YOU!!! I would name those who stood out but then I would have to name everyone and I don't know the names of the housekeeping staff so that's not fair to only name those that worked at the front desk!
Next time I go to Tampa this hotel will be on my list of places to stay, just cause of the staff alone not to mention the shuttle service and it's proximity to the...
Read moreI am a Titanium Elite member with Marriott and travel all over the country. The nicest thing I can say about this hotel is that the outdoor area was cleaned daily and the pool/hot tub was nice. The room was dark, dusty and dingy with mildew in the bathroom (#307 mildew above the commode) and stains on the carpet by the sink. The bed linens and towels were fresh each day but the overall room was not to the Marriott standard that I visit on a monthly basis elsewhere. The morning breakfast was a true disappointment, as this was a personal trip with my sister every morning I came down and the food was empty (hot dish) and/or the breakfast pastries was either empty or still frozen solid. Not sure if there was a staffing issue but looking at other reviews this appears to be their standard at this hotel. The 2 colleagues running the buffet could not get the food refilled or the tables wiped or the trash cleared. I am a very early riser and was outsider reading at 5:00 - 6:30am then went in to get coffee first then breakfast at 7:30...there was never more than 5-10 guests at that time but it was as described above. The front desk was not friendly other that the woman that checked us in when we arrived. The reasons this stands out is I normally am greeted either coming or going and this did not happen at all during out week long stay. I also have never had daily solicitations under my room door - this made me uncomfortable as it has to be a security issue for these people who are not guest wandering the hotel floors. All In all...I will not stay here again nor will I ever recommend this hotel for any one to stay as it is not to the same standard as a normal...
