Hometown Escapes — Attraction in Tega Cay

This is our first time playing an escape room. We had a wonderful time! It was definitely a great event to do as a family. There were 6 of us. We loved the private room. Since we didn't have any experience with escape rooms, it took a bit for us to get the hang of what we needed to do. But we were on a roll by halfway through and actually finished in time. Each one of us was able to contribute something to the game. Even the youngest at 10yrs old. We did need to ask for hints twice, and we made a couple of mistakes that caused our info to come out wrong, but the Game Master helped us out, so that we wouldn't just be stuck. We really appreciated the help, as it was just the right amount. The room itself was beautiful and well decorated. The game masters were pleasant and a joy to be around. The information on the website is clear and easy to understand. It tells of all the rooms they have, the likely difficulty level of each, and when certain rooms are available when booking. I love that they let people of all ages play including young children. And they do private rooms even if only 2 are playing. This place is definitely worth...

I’m not sure why we hadn’t gone here until now but believe me this place is a hidden gem. The owners graciously let us do four rooms in sequence and each one provided a fun, challenging escape experience, as well as a few firsts as well. The Titanic room is uniquely themed and was a lot of fun. As far as single room escape rooms go, theirs are done so well that you don’t even notice. There are so many fun puzzles and challenges that keep you busy the entire time. The decor and puzzles were on theme for each room and we even saw a few locks that we had never seen in escape rooms before. The owners were wonderful to talk to before and after each game and answered all of our in depth questions with enthusiasm. You can tell they love what they do. I will definitely be returning to try and escape the rooms we didn’t get to this time. Thank you both for making my friends birthday so special!...

We have done many breakout rooms so take that into consideration with this review. I looooved the Titanic theme! It’s really cool that the lady that runs this place comes up with the ideas herself! I think it’s still on the newer side so I’m sure it is still growing, but hopefully they’ll have more props for the pictures over time. As for the room itself, it was good, but I would consider it on the lower budget end. I do think there are some things that could be done to give it a little more flair that would be budget friendly, such as audio (e.g., background noises of the ocean, or if you want it to be a little more intense, maybe some people shouting or screaming that increases as the time goes by). But I am so glad that Fort Mill does have an escape room location and that this lady created...
