Read moreThere is a Lego store that's fun for all ages; don't miss the HUGE Lego creations near the food court. There is an aquarium but we couldn't justify the cost, as it is terribly expensive (you can get your tickets online though for a little less and just have your phone scanned for entry, but still very expensive).
The food court feels higher-end than most. There is a decent selection of places to eat. We ate at the burger place "Mo' Burger" but it was lackluster. We had to give a very simple order for two burgers (just meat and cheese) to the cashier six times. Then the kitchen crew botched it anyway. Stay away from the fries and onion rings; they tasted of nothing but oil, which we had to wonder when/if it was ever changed out.
If nothing at the food court strikes your fancy, there are little food shops throughout the mall. I remember Dairy Queen/Orange Julius (they were quick, efficient, and made our tasty treats), and a cupcake shoppe with an amazing selection.
This mall is huge. There's an IMAX theater in there too. Parents with young kids can stop at a store of sorts where kids (for a small admission I think) can go in.through only one gate, and the entire place is one big play area with activities throughout. Chairs are set up for parents, facing the area, so they can take a breather. It looked a much safer place for kids than most play areas I've seen in malls.
If you're looking for something, this mall will probably have it. Get out your walking shoes, do the entire loop, and you'll...
Read moreArizona Mills is a solid choice for a day out, but it's not exactly a showstopper. It earns a respectable four stars for being a functional and reliable destination, particularly on a hot summer day in the Valley. You can't beat the air conditioning and the circular layout makes it easy to navigate once you get your bearings. The mall has a good variety of outlet stores, and you can usually find a decent deal if you're willing to hunt for it. The real draw, however, is the entertainment. With the IMAX theater, SEA LIFE Aquarium, and LEGOLAND Discovery Center, it's a great place to take the family and escape the heat. However, the mall's overall vibe is more practical than exciting. While it has some standout features, it lacks the polish or high-end feel of other Valley malls. The store selection is good, not great, and it can feel a bit crowded and worn in some areas. The food court is also nothing to write home about, offering the usual fast-food suspects with little to no variety. It's a dependable, un-fancy mall that gets the job done, which is perfectly fine. It just doesn't quite reach that "wow" factor to be a five-star...
