This place has certainly gone way downhill. We were greeted by an eye rolling (literally) young woman. We waited briefly for a table, but then sat at that table for at least 15 minutes before being greeted by a server who wasn't even supposed to be ours. Tyler, our server, was outstanding. Otherwise, this whole lunch experience was awful. We waited 45 minutes for food when finally we asked to speak to a manager. The manager, Kevin, came over, finally, with our food. We expressed our frustration with the eye rolling and the 45 minute wait for food. He blamed the new hostess saying, "She flooded the restaurant with tables." And, " She doesn't know how to deal with stress." Next he offered us a free round or dessert. We declined as our one beer lunch can had amorphed into a 2 beer lunch already because of the wait. Kevin was sarcastic and condescending, and I almost died when he blamed the 19 or 20 year old hostess for all of the problems. When Kevin left our table, after not apologizing, we began eating and then realized our food was ice cold. I sent back the potato skins I ordered and asked Tyler to nuke my soup. When we received the bill, we were quite shocked to see nothing beside the skins I had sent back wad removed from our bill. We paid our bill and way overtipped Tyler because he was great. At the end of our lunch, a random server had the audacity to come over to our table and sarcastically say, " You ladies should come on A Monday. It's a lot less busy." As if complaining about waiting for 45 minutes is okay in any situation. This place is a mess and we will lot be...

Horrible experience. Made a reservation for 6pm on a Thursday night (aug 6th). Spoke with someone named Austin- set reservations and let him know that we were coming in for a bday dinner. He was very kind and helpful. But unfortunately that’s were the great customer service ended. My niece arrived early and checked in with the hostess who said we didn’t have a reservation the was told that Austin is not allowed to make reservations... (well if the bartender isn’t able to make reservations why have him answer the phone??) anyways our party of 6 was seated at table that would barley fit 5 people. After letting the hostess know that was unacceptable seating for our party for 6 the hostess and a waitress came and moved 2 tables together to accommodate us. As we think that’s the end of put troubles we’re “greeted” by our waitress Josette who was completely rude and acted like we were inconveniencing her. Took forever to get drinks, take our order, didn’t check in on us, had to ask other wait staff for refills, cold food etc... Then when we got the check we saw that an automatic gratuity was added on. I’m sorry but Josette was a horrible waitress and definitely didn’t deserve over $20 tip for barley doing her job, but whatever at that point we just wanted out of there... My Husband called and spoke with a managers Kevin- he very help and seemed concerned about our experience. But not sure what will come of this... We have been coming to Rula Bula for years and was extremely disappointed with this visit and will...

I'm giving three stars today simply because I know today, St. Patrick's Day, was not their best by a long shot. This is our go to place for Irish comfort food for the gf who's Irish.

We had two Dr. Peppers for drinks which the syrup ran out, we notified two different servers and they were never replaced nor were we asked about alternative drinks, we couldn't even get the staff to get us two seconds to ask either. The food arrived cold and we had to send back the gfs order because we ordered the Corned Beef Platter, not the sandwich. We were told that it was being rushed but still came out cold after 20 mins and had an odd greasy flavor on everything. The "Shepherd's" pie felt rushed and was bland but was at least warm when it got to the table. We had to ask several times for silverware and napkins before receiving a few forks and no napkins, which made it take even longer before we could eat. Others around who were oldering alcohol had much better service than we did, gf doesn't drink and I'm on antibiotics rn so can't drink.

I'm really hoping that this was a fluke and not the "new norm" for such a...

Sooo, my boyfriend, my son and I just left this place. The hostess was rude. She had to move our table a couple of times because the other tables were reserved. Once we got our table and menus we waited and waited. We got no water, nobody came to check on us. Multiple waiters walked right past us and checked and served other tables. I felt totally uncomfortable sitting there about five mins maybe longer with not even a glass of water. We continued to sit there and wait and I was already feeling not welcomed and ready to go. Everyone in the place was white. We are a black and asian couple and I felt discriminated against. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Yes, I did see the other reviews that mentioned they had terrible service and had to flag someone down. However, I looked the waiter dead in his eye when he walked by us again and he looked right at me and continued ignoring us. He didn't stop and we got no service. We left because I'm not about to sit there a feel uncomfortable with my with my family. Try the other Irish place down the way Their service and people were way better.

Rula Bula Irish Pub is the place to get a pint of your favorite Irish draught or some of the best Irish food in the Phoenix area. You will find Guinness, Harp, Kilkenny and Smithwick on tap, plus plenty of Irish liquor drinks on the menu. The food menu is full of Irish dishes, but my two favorites are the Fish & Chips or the Corned Beef & Cabbage. Both are made in traditional ways with the fish and chips made fresh to order. The corned beef is made in house, cooked to perfection, sliced thin and served with horseradish sauce. Every time I go I have to battle myself to decide which one I will enjoy. Start with some pub style appetizers to share. I recommend the Irish Chips with Dipping Sauce, and order of Wings and the Spinach and Artichoke Dip. The atmosphere is what we Americans would think or and Irish pub and it's quaint and fun. The bar gets busy on weekends and offers some great love music. Prepare for crazy crowds during St. Patrick's Day and leading up. Rula Bula is one of the most fun and best eateries in The Valley and should be on everyone's must try lists.

This has become my favorite pub in Phoenix. The staff are always cheerful and helpful even when its packed at night. The food is also always top notch. They have the best fish and chips in town, hands down. I prefer their cuts of fish instead of the square chunks a lot of bars seem to use. The hot bollix is a must try for your app. I've seen that they apparently have some of the best wings in phoenix as well but I have yet to make it that far into the menu to try them. The fish and chips are just that good. Also having the traditional beers on tap is really nice. Overall this place is a must visit if you are in the area.
