Ice Restaurant — Restaurant in Toledo

The atmosphere is the best part of this restaurant. It looks very modern and nice, and... in no way inviting. It's an interesting little place but it's nothing worth visiting again. The food was terrible. The Cajun mac and cheese was very bland and tasted overall bad. You could tell it was sitting out for a while. The cheese was dry and almost tasted powdery. The chicken was cold and was the most dry chicken I've ever had before, in addition to the bacon tasting like plastic. The wife's burger was no better and tasted like it was microwaved. There were no other customers other than one man drinking at the bar. It took us 30 minutes to get our food while the waitress was chatting in the back with the other waitress. The waitress we had, Monica A, was awful. She was very rude and was clearly trying to have us leave and showed she wanted no part of the restaurant or her job at all. Upon us asking questions, she would sigh and tell us she doesn't know or "it should be obvious." Not only that, but as we ate quickly, she walked by and made a comment saying, "Wow, you two are eating so fast you must really like eating." Seriously?! Then after I finish my Coke, the best part of the meal, she brings me back a water and when I said to her, "this isn't what I ordered and was charged for," she had the audacity to scoff and walk back into the kitchen. I got no drink back. Upon her dropping the check and pen on my table, I left her nothing for a tip because she was probably, if not definitely, the worst waitress I have ever worked with before. I think this was a total waste of my money and I'll never go back. I ordered the prosciutto wrapped scallops for an appetizer. They were $12.99.... I would never have ordered them had I known that you only got 2! I thought I'd at least get 4 or 5 to share with my friends and to also make it worth $12.99. They were basically burnt and extremely salty.

My entree was the perch and potato hash? Whatever you call it. It wasn't terrible.

When we arrived, no one from the wait staff acknowledged us at all. We were a table of 8. Kinda noticable. I had to ask the bartender for a waiter or waitress. The waiter who finally came up was nice enough to us, but he was really not knowledgeable about much. He had to go back to the kitchen every time someone had a question. THEN! He informs us at 8:00 that they close at 9 and all our orders had to be in to the kitchen by 8:30! What restaurant closes at 9?! And one downtown, especially!? That turned me off immediately because there was only 1 other table in the whole place and they already had their food, so it was like we were the last table of the night and we were going to get bottom of the barrel.

Everyone else but me pretty much got steaks. I LOVE steak, but these looked like thin, burnt Applebee's steaks at best. My friend who smokes cigarettes went outside to smoke and got locked out. Had to text one of us to let her in.

Oh! And don't let me forget that as all the cooks, wait staff, etc got off work they all sat at the bar drinking beer together. Classy.

Wow! Wow! Wow! The venue! The staff! The food! The drinks! Ice delivered on every way possible! We were lucky enough to find Ice when we were forced to find another venue due to our growing RSVP list! Mike answered the phone at 9am on his day off and scheduled to meet with us the next day on another day off! Mike explained that prior to he had taken the week of our wedding off so he had the day free! He went above and beyond and helped us to choose our food package, drink package, linens, and more! He helped us to stay calm through the entire process and always reassured us that we were meant to have our wedding there! Mike and his staff helped us to go into the wedding with ease. Day of they were all there after having decorated the night before! They made the venue look beautiful and they worked their butts off serving all of our guest an absolutely delicious meal and amazing drinks both alcoholic and mocktails! He was able to seat 105 guest for us and created a large dance floor where our guest enjoyed dancing! Mike and his staff did an outstanding job and I would 100% recommend Ice for any weddings, events, and during their lunch hours! You will be taken care of and enjoy your time there!
