My usual barber shop I go to was closed so I googled "Barber shops in Torrance" on my phone and saw what great reviews this place had so I thought I'd give it a shot. I have no idea how it got such good reviews. Here's my experience: I walked in and was not greeted-whatever no big deal. I'm seated for maybe 30 seconds then a woman points to her barber chair so I get up and go sit in it. I tell her to take just about a quarter inch off the top and to give me a low fade on the sides. I even used my finger and thumb and spread them about 1.5-2 inches apart and guided it around my temples to the back of my head to explain. To emphasize what I wanted I showed her a picture on my phone. She looked at me with kind of a blank face and then looked at the man cutting someone else's hair next to us. Oh, she doesn't speak English...great. So I describe to him the same thing I just attempted to tell her and he repeats it to her in Spanish. There was a soccer game on the TV and she rotated me to it so I didn't have the mirror to look at myself in which was my first mistake. Actually that was my second mistake, my first was coming to this place. So, shes cutting my hair and then towards the end she turned my chair to the mirror....WHAT THE HELL! I'm pretty sure the picture on my phone I showed her was not Miley Cyrus. She faded one side way up higher than the other. She also only used scissors to trim only half of the hair on top so it was uneven. I'm trying to tell her to even it our but, alas, she does not speak English. I ended up getting pretty frustrated and eventually just said whatever and left. I tried using scissors on my hair at home and made it look a TINY bit better, but I guess my hair style for the next couple weeks is going to be a hat. Good thing I'm allowed to wear one to work. I would not recommend this place to anyone, unless you type everything you want to be done to your hair on google translate Spanish edition and hand them the sheet of paper. Everyone in there was speaking Spanish loudly to each other...maybe they purposely did a bad job so my white butt doesn't come back. Sounds ridiculous, but with the condition my hair is...
Read moreChief called and said this place definitely ain’t it. I go in and ask for the barber to trim off two inches of my curly hair that is 10 inches long and tell him to make sure it’s even. Literally he goes straight for the side of my hair and I kid you not chopped off 6 inches of my hair. I tell the guy that he trimmed too much and when I tell him to atleast even it out, he then chops off more and now I feel disgusted because he damaged my hair by screwing around with scissors and falsely measuring with their hands. It was sad to even look down at all my curls and notice that there’s more hair on the ground than on my head. Just coming to the realization that damn a whole year’s worth of hair just wasted. I’m never going back to this place and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone that cares about...
Read moreWell i first walkin and see 2 barbers sitting with their cellphones. The one guy working points to the two. No greeting or anything. The two looked at one another and decides in 10 mins. Like the shop was packed or something. I felt a bit discriminated against being im black and they were Hispanic. Im only waiting because i need a cut but i also want to see how.long it actually take for this cut.i came in at 6:04 pm. 2nd gentleman walks in...ask still open. Neither 2nd or 3rd barber has moved towards any clientele....now one is hiding in back. I walked out after asking if anyone was working. I have to say without a doubt this was the worst service ever. I.don't usually say things like this but i.hope this joint...
