I've ALWAYS been pro wholesale shopping and this store has just bolstered that ideology. My family is on a EXTREMELY tight budget, and I have to know, before I get to the register what I've spent and if it will fufill my families needs for the month and since getting a membership to Costco, I can sincerely say that my family's food stores have been more reliably consistently full, much healthier and it's all come into the house in a faster, easier way than before. With the money that I'm saving, even with buying exclusively organic fresh and frozen foods, I'm able to get MORE food than before because I save so much. Eggs are a huge deal in our house and organic free range eggs are expensive, even at the discount big box stores with a smile face and you can buy 6 dozen for less than $8. That's a WlN in my book, all day. With a butcher on premises, Costco is an amazing place to buy big cuts of meat, then have them cut down to manageable sizes for your needs. taking home a whole prok loin may seem daunting, but when it's possible to save dollars less per pound, you ask the butcher to cut it up into steaks, which they do for free, and you're saving a lot of money! As always, their rotisserie chicken is a must buy, as well as cases of bottled water, a #40 pack of 16.9oz bottles are around $3 before taxes and deposit (here in CNY.) for those items alone, you're going to break even with the cost of you're membership and the savings. Their cheese options are amazing and range from a 3.99 lb of off brand shape cheddar to extremes that are sold by the six ounce package for $20. If you love cheese and wanna try something new without breaking the bank, Costco is the place to go. They also have pretty party trays that look great and can totally pass for homemade. You don't have to have a party, to have wine and cheese party in you're mouth! I don't drink, but I do know that there's a liquor store inside Costco, well on the side, and you don't have to have a membership to shop there! From what I can tell the wine prices are more than fair and the bottles are enormous! Cashing out at Costco is an experience! I was so happily surprised when I got to the register and there were TWO cashier's working in tandem to move the items that would be able to go on the belt, and arrange the ones that didn't, were simply scanned with a hand wand and left in my cart. Finally someone realized that it's unnecessary to move the heaviest items from the cart to the belt, then back again when they're equipped with handheld scanners! Not only does this save time, it prevents injury and exhaustion for both the shopper and the cashier, Bravo Costco! Specifically, at this Costco, I've had exceptionally good check out service with one particular employee, she knows when we come, if she doesn't see us around then she asks us the next time how things are; she is seemingly genuinely interested and concerned about people and doing the best she can for them. That's above and beyond, "smile and greet the customer," to an extreme degree. Her positive spirit is infectious and makes the now super stressful (post covid) grocery shopping afternoon seem less hellish; several of the employees I've engaged with have a similar demeanor and it's truly remarkable considering all the hard work their doing. And now adding the risk that they're taking to ensure that they're families needs are met as well as ours it's really hard to be upset having to wait even ten or fifteen minutes if you're greeted with service such as that. Their efforts are certainly appreciated and the tone among the cashiers is certainly singular and spectacular in such a fast-paced retail atmosphere. If you ask me is Costco worth the money, I wholeheartedly say absolutely! They're membership terms even have an option where if you buy membership and don't really like it, you can cancel it! How awesome is that?!? There's no reason...
Read moreUpdate I did receive a call back from Yves and JB the Store Manager, they were both sincerely apologetic and went above and beyond to discuss the issue and address it. This was just a reminder that there are still good people within the company who may not be aware of the bad apples unless we speak up. I have had a change of heart and will continue to shop at Costco, again their products are great!!
Original Review:
I have had a Costco Membership for 3 years now, the food is good, customer service used to be good, I shop here for particular items which recently came to an end.
I have to say that after my experience yesterday I will no longer shop at Costco at all.
I arrived at the store knowing that I had to renew my membership, so I walk up to the customer service desk that clearly states "Membership Services". Wait about 10-15 minutes to be brushed off and told "They can do that at the Register".
I get all of my items, I let the cashier know that I have to renew my membership. He rang everything up, I told him that I no longer want the "Executive Membership" I would like the "Gold Star Membership". He told me that "I can not downgrade the membership and it would have to be done over at the Customer Service Desk". I proceeded to walk over to Customer Service, the cashier requested that I come back to pay for the items that I left behind. I told him that I am not paying $160 for a membership that I now realize I really only need the "Gold Star Membership" for $60. He clearly stated "All you have to do is cash out and take your receipt over to Customer Service for the refund" He was very forceful as I did not want to do it that way. So I did and walked over to Customer Service.
By the time I returned back to Customer Service there was now a lot more people so I waited much longer this time. I spoke to the employee about what just happened and requested my $60 refund from the membership I was forced to pay for but did not want. She told me that there is nothing that she can do for at least 24 hours because it takes that long to "Come up in the system" whatever that means.

Read moreI’ve always loved Costco and it’s products, services, and friendly employees. In the past I’ve bought cakes, hearing aids, furniture, clothes, and many other items (mostly food) there. I had heard nothing but good things about Costco’s flower arrangements and their florist at the Camillus NY location. I’m getting married in less than 10 days now and I thought I had taken care of my flowers with their florist months ago. Well, I couldn’t have been more wrong. Initially the florist corresponded with me via phone call then via text so she would have a record of my requests and then order. I asked for something similar to the bouquets I’d seen in store but with no reds or purples (my theme is citrus). To this she posed no objections other than “the flowers you’ve seen on the website are not the ones we have in store but we could arrange something similar from what you did see.” This is about 2 months ago. I put a request in for my colors and number of bouquets. As of a few weeks ago I tried to get in contact with the florist and she did not return my phone calls or text messages. At this point I’m moving halfway across the country, packing a uhaul, and finishing wedding plans. I don’t exactly have time to hound the florist whom I’ve left multiple messages for as well as clearly stated what flowers I would like, thinking it was taken care of. I assumed I was dealing with a professional. Praise God for my future great aunt-in-law. She took the reigns and contacted the administration office as well as finally the florist. However, now we’re almost a week from my wedding. The colors and bouquet style the florist had were far from what I had explicitly requested, then she said “we do not do custom orders”— which would have been great to communicate 2 months ago instead of pretending that my requests could be fulfilled, Now we’re scrambling to find flowers. Costco online ships directly and has a great variety and we’re going with them. So word to the wise, do more research and insist on better communication than I did if you decide to get flowers from a local Costco store rather...
