This is one of our favorite local restaurants. My favorite appetizer is the queso fundido, melted cheese with chopped chorizo and spices. It has a little heat and is delicious with chips. For an entree, try the carnitas plate. The pork is slow-cooked to render the fat and then beautifully seasoned. The dish comes with a generous portion of pork, three tortillas, pico de gallo, one jalapeno, rice, and refried beans. A feast for a very reasonable price. As shown by the photo attached, I request shredded lettuce, sour cream, and an extra jalapeno in place of the rice and beans. The service is friendly and efficient even when they're busy. UPDATE-1: They are currently closed on Sundays. UPDATE-2: Had queso fundido as an appetizer and flautas with rice and beans as my main. You get two chicken and two beef flautas, but you can request that they all be one or the other (I recommend the chicken). Besides dipping the flautas in the guacamole, sour cream, or salsa provided, I found dipping them in the queso fundido to be delicious. UPDATE-3: My wife usually orders three chicken-based à la carte items: a taco, an enchilada, and a quesadilla and takes the leftovers home for a second meal. They reheat beautifully. UPDATE-4: Although this is one of our favorite and most frequented restaurants in Syracuse, there are a couple of items I don't recommend. The first is the ground-beef. To my taste, it's a bit bland, and watery. In contrast, the dishes recommended above contained beautifully seasoned shredded chicken or pork. The second is the chili relleno. In my opinion, the pepper is undercooked. In fact, a knife it's usually needed to cut it. Also, It might benefit from more cheese placed inside the pepper.

If I could give this restaurant a 10 out of 5 I would. Prices are extremely reasonable and the food is amazing even on the 3rd visit. The chimichangas and fajitas as so delicious then there is the dessert OMG I have had 3 of their desserts and every one was outstanding. My personal favorite is the Churros, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, the churros are served hot with ice cream and strawberry sauce 🔥(the combination of crunchy and soft then hot and cold dessert is breathtaking)

Fast and friendly service. Really good food. Reasonably clean (including the restrooms). Well worth the prices. The meal wasn't crazy salty. I've been to a lot of Mexican restaurants and most of the time the food is way too salty. Don't get me wrong - it's still not for someone watching salt intake closely but it's not over the top. The Margarita's are great! It didn't taste watered down and had good ingredients. That, however, had a lot of salt...exactly as it should :)

The food is okay at best and extremely overpriced. The service, however, is HORRIBLE.

Don't get me wrong, I like mexican food. I really, like mexican food. And I'm not the type to give a really bad review based off one experience; but this has happened to me (or I've witnessed it) on THREE occasions.

I went there a little while ago, and had to wait 5 or 6 minutes before my waiter came by to get drink orders and drop off chips and salsa. That's alright. I order a tea, with sugar please. My sister and her fiance order their drinks. We also order cheese dip and ask for a few minutes in order to decide our meals.

Well she comes by 5 or 6 minutes later with our drinks. Okay, so drinks are a little slow. At least I've got some chips and salsa right? Well, our cheese dip isn't here. Hmm. Well, 10 minutes later I get my cheese dip, yet we don't get our drinks or chips refilled (they were eaten in the span of the past 15 minutes).

We finally get our cheese dip 10 minutes later with the rest of our food. Ok. cool. At least we got it. We had a couple kids with us and they were being unruly and what not and tossed some silverware down. Well, we finally get a food a few minutes later and then have to wait MORE for our silverware. We finally get a refill and wait a minute or two more for our silverware so we can actually eat.

I got some enchiladas. The four enchilada special. Two of them were pretty good, but the chicken one was very dry, and the bean one was extremely small. Felt like they didn't have all the beans they needed and just put 40% of what they should and wrapped it up tighter, sticking it at the bottom to kind of hide it.

Ultimately due to the fact that we spend almost 40 minutes waiting for very simple things my sister (after seeing the bill and the service) goes up to complain. Now, I'm not a huge fan of complaining at restaurants. I've worked my fair share of them and it was painfully obvious our waiter was new at her job. But this isn't the only time I've experienced this. I went there a month earlier and had a similar wait. I didn't have to pay so I didn't see the HORRENDOUS prices.

We had 3 entrees. Mine was 9.50 as per the menu, my sister's was 6.50, and her fiance was 9.00.

Now, I'm no mathematician, but those three entrees should equal about $25.50, not including drinks. My sister got cheese dip and ordered a margarita, which said 2.50 (and cheese dip was 2.60 I think) that's like, an extra 5 bucks.

That's a total of $30, again, not including drinks. Drinks in most places from my experience range from $1 to $2.99, so $1.99 isn't too bad of an idea to expect from. That's about $6 give or take. So $36 total. Kinda pricy, but we have three people and an appetizer. So that's fair.

My sister told me that the bill came up to a total of $47.00. For 3 people.

This should be utterly impossible. She runs up to the register to complain. So, the prices on the menu are incorrect, and drinks only have one refill free (We only had the one but apparently we were charged for several) - even after making the drinks and an entire entree free, they charged us $35 dollars.

I have never paid so much money, and been shown so little consideration. I later find out that my sister and her fiance went to the restaurant a couple times before and have ALWAYS had problems with waiters ignoring them or otherwise delaying. One time, they had to wait an hour for their food.

So basically, bad service, extremely over priced. Don't go here.

Oh, and their...

This used to be one of our favorite restaurants, but all of that has changed drastically. The wait should have been the worst part of our trip, but sadly that was the best. The portion size and quality of the food coming out to the tables has dropped drastically, while the cost has become increasingly more. This all being said, that is something we understand and accept. Being in the service industry myself, for over 10 years and working at a restaurant that does 30 grand in sales on any given Saturday, I am more than understanding of situations, bad days humans have, etc. But this seemed to be much more than that. Our waiter exuded arrogance and had absolutely NO reason to as he was not good at his job, AT ALL! He was terrible. He seemed to be judging us from the moment we sat down. It took 5+ minutes for him to come greet us like how dare us sit in his section and want to be treated decently. Another 8 mins to take our drink order. He came back with the drinks 7 minutes after that. At which time he said he needed to "go put out fires", a robotic line I heard him use at all 5 of his tables in his section, with no sincerity. He throws down our drinks uses his robotic line and runs off not even giving us the opportunity to put an appetizer in. He obviously judges his guests and treats them according to how he thinks they will tip. Knowing nothing about them he just goes off looks. He focuses on woman and kids like some weird predator. He has worked for your company for awhile now and obviously has some kind of pull/power. He was talking to guests' like he was in full control. Using phrases like "oh its not busy, this is a cake walk." whilst he was clearly struggling, and the guest even responded with a huge sarcastic "oh yeahhh". This guy needs a huge humbling, "Sit DOWN BE HUMBLE". He thinks because he is decently good looking and can carry 4 plates on one arm that he is an amazing server and people have to tip simply because they came out. A tip is based of my judgement of your hard work and performance, I don't owe you a tip off of your looks and ability to carry multiple plates nor did you deserve one. The only time he seemed to care is when I had my wallet out with cash, by which he made us feel VERY uncomfortable by hovering over us. This was so unprofessional and was the longest time he spent with us. It set me that much more off. He still received a 15 % tip. But we should have had our entire meal free and he should not be given "big" sections or any power nor responsibility. They will be lucky to receive our business again. I will talk to every one I can about this experience and the type of arrogant person you have working for you!!! In all of our travels, never have we received such terrible service. Beyond...

We are new to this area from S. California and most recently from Oklahoma city. This restaurant came highly recommended by several people including the local high school Spanish teacher (who claims to have been to South America several times and believes this restaurant to be comparable), I'm very sad to say that the so-called "Mexican" food served here is a joke. It was an absolute travesty and the owners should be ashamed to call this Mexican food. After about a 20 min wait we were seated and so began the worst "Mexican" food experience my family and I have ever had. Lets start with what was referred to as "salsa" which is really just some tomato sauce thrown in a bowl with a few spices added, where is the cilantro, onion, jalapeno, and tomato chunks? Where is ANYTHING that could possibly add some flavor!!?? And the tortillas chips that were obviously pre-packaged, but had been refried in an attempt to pass them off as fresh made. Gross. Each member of my family ordered something different and each menu item sucked equally. Our food arrived appearing to be almost identical...even the server had a hard time differentiating between the food. This may have been because everything (whether it was burritos, enchiladas or tacos) was covered in a tomato sauce (I believe it was their attempt at a ranchero sauce) then shredded lettuce and a sliced (unripe) tomato. And please don't expect beans and rice to be served with your meal, cause there are no sides! Just your tomato sauce and salad that covered your food. I don't even care about the semi-poor service, because the food was just shameful. Without a doubt, this restaurant was the worst experience with Mexican food I've ever had. And for it to come so highly recommended, I'm fearful to try any other restaurant that is locally...
